This is a really well made and functional product for the price. The autofocus system on the probe I selected works really well and helps to ensure that no matter how close or far (within reason) the point of interest is you'll still be able to see it clearly. I've used the scope on four projects where I needed to look inside walls and floor cavities already and it has saved a lot of time. The rigidity of the gooseneck probe is just right and keeps the camera pointed where you want it. I was also happy to see that the rechargeable battery is a standard size and easy to replace when eventually needed. The LED light is very bright and projects far enough ahead that navigation is easy. The LED can be too bright if the point of interest is right in front of the camera, but pull back by an inch or two and the image will then be great. This is one of those tools that used to be so expensive that a weekend handyman would never think of buying one, but now I wonder how I ever got by without one!

Like size and picture quality, arrived with depleted battery that needed to be charged prior to use. Uses a Lithium Rechargable battery, however, it only comes with the USB charging cord, not the charger. Had an old 5V phone charger with USB output that worked fine to charge it, but, you'd think it would come with the charger! Snake holds shape well, but real hard to keep camera oriented when feeding into and around inside walls. Anytime you move the cable, the camera rotates...once you figure out left right up down in the view, it' works good....Auto focus works nice, can see close or further away inside walls...most units blur after 3 inches, this works as stated...1 inch to 100 feet.

I tried a cheaper endoscope and it was useless to figure out what was going on with the wiring in a crowded area on our boat. With this endoscope, the autofocus feature is a huge help. The quality of images is amazing.

Pros: Worked perfectly out of the box, no set up whatsoever. Just pushed the ON button. Photo and video capture was intuitive and actually worked. Image quality was good but didn't blow my socks off. Cord was pretty stiff and would hold its shape for about 4 feet without sagging. Menu system was easy to use. Microphone worked good. Built in flashlight at handle worked well. Cons: Image rotate function is simply a 180 degree image flip, pretty worthless and thus most of your efforts will be fighting the stiff cable. There needs to be a way to swivel the cable without turning your whole body around. LED lights on camera are adequate for things within maybe 5 feet, after that things get darkish. All in all, this thing is usable and handy although a bit clums. ----------------------------------------------------- Here's my free boroscope education: Most all borescopes can only be used a few inches from your target(car engines). Further away than that you will need a boroscope with 'auto focus'. Short camera cables(3-6 ft) that are stiff are only good at viewing an initial angle of attack. In other words they are terrible at 'looking around' while you fight to twist your whole body around trying to look at your screen. Long and floppy camera cords must rely on your ingenuity to fish your camera into place such as taping a heavy bendable wire along your cable and/or running your cable through a short piece of copper tubing/pvc pipe. I would say 95% of your boroscope frustrations are not being able to look left-right-up-down which IS A HUGE DEAL !!! Don't think for a second that your simply going to rotate or twist the cable! lolol The camera is going to everywhere you don't need it to look. Also, the screen image rotation function on these cameras are typically just 180 degree image flips...almost worthless. If you need a boroscope for the same singular purpose of looking into a little hole and seeing something close up then youre in luck. But if you want something for general use in pipes, attics, ducts etc. then your options are slim. For general use I would get a quality($50-$150) auto focus camera with a long floppy cord. And as I said before use wire and pipe to feed you camera into place. With a little ingenuity you can turn even the camera AT the camera. You could also attach additional an additional LED flashlight to the end.
