590BX Big River Harmonica, Key of C

This A-flat harp is great for playing blues in E flat, (E chords with a guitar tuned a half step down). It is pitched lower than an A and higher than a G. Like all Big River harmonicas it is loud and sounds, IMO, as good as any 10 hole harp in its key. I bought a lot of BR harps years ago, when they were nine dollars each. I am so glad I did. I play the harp mainly from a holder (with my guitars). I've been doing that for over 60 years. The Big Rivers are a little thick for some holders. Often I will put old Marine Band covers on them to make them fit better. The funny thing about the review process for this harmonica is that the software wants to know if it is "sheer" enough to suit me. It is (HA!).

This is my second Big River Harp, I got my first one in the mid 90's and lost it in 2010 when I moved. A couple of years ago I decided it was time to get back in the game, and I ordered another set to start practicing but the Hohner kept calling me back. Arrived today, and I will definitely be getting more in different keys!

This harmonica is super loud and the tones are very rich, even though I can't play it very well, it's still fun to dink around with and make noise from time to time! It is a great price for a better quality starter Harmonica.

This is good for an accomplished beginner to semi pro. For the price, this harp is going to hold it's own against some of the finer harps out there. The pulls are smooth, and if you are getting into bending, single note playing, or tongue blocking this harp holds up. So if you are ready to commit yourself to more harmonica playing, this is the route to go.

Don't play much in this key....but...handy to have if it comes up...love the sound of these harmonicas.

Me ha encantado!! Tiene un acabado insuperable y un sonido especial, se ve de muy buena calidad y lo acabados muy logrados. No quiero dar menos de 5 estrellas porque la verdad es imposible, pero tengo mi queja. Nunca había recibido un envío de Amazon en estas condiciones, el paquete venía abierto y dentro también estaba abierto, si nos ponemos a pensar en estos tiempos que vivimos lo suyo sería devolver el paquete. Este es un instrumento musical que se toca directamente con la boca y no quiero pensar que el que abrió el paquete hiciera uso de él mismo, a alguien se le olvida que hay un virus. La próxima vez el empaquetado debe ser más seguro creo yo!! Bueno por lo demás lo recomiendo 100%
