Is it long wave infrared?

Watch the wave pattern on the floor, this will give you an idear of the heart radius and you will feel good heat over 2 meter away, in my opinion the heat output is similar to a real fire, the closer your are the hotter it will feel and for the price all I say is just buy it because similar products are over £100 . The base has a sensor, for safety, which switches the heater off if it’s not level or moves. My flooring is uneven flagstone and I often have to giggle it about to get a level surface. You could put it on carpet as long as it’s level - if it’s a deep pile, you may want to put something underneath the base, just to keep it safe

Can it be used outdoors?

As far as I know it can be used outside. Even on low it throws out a lot of heat.

It says it uses 500W or 1000W but on the back it says 800 or 1000w, so not 500??

I think it is 500 watt on low heat and 1000 watt on high.
