Nice price, does the trick
Just one small observation. The one I got does not have metal grommets where the bolts go in, it's just plain rubber. The original had them but they are pressed in, so can't really reuse them. I'm selling the car, so don't care. But just FYI. You're welcome.

Excellent fit
This boot is thick and fits great. Be sure to order the tuttetand the rebuild bushings if your shifter has any slop. Your already have the console apart and you will be so glad you did.

Retaining ring too small - had to reuse old ring
Overall build quality is okay, only fitment issue I had was the plastic ring being too small. Make sure you keep your old one!

Doesn't really fit
I have a 1996 Miata with this boot completely missing so I had nothing to compare this product to. But the installation was terrible. This so far has been the hardest thing to install on my Miata. Additionally, it ripped upon installation. The little plastic piece at the top of the boot is way to tight and when I was putting it on the shifter it dug into rubber with the little teeth and ripped it in a few spots. I did apply tons of lube before installation as without it I would be completely unable to force the piece on. I'd also like to say that for some reason mine is off centered. I think it's supposed to be either centered or at least more centered than mine is. The shifter is basically to the left of the center of the boot. It still sort of works because it didnt completely rip but I will probably be replacing this with something more expensive down the line. Disappointed.
