Affordable ADS-B receiver and easy to assemble
This is a relatively easy to assemble kit to get yourself an ADS-B In capability that is much more affordable than the pre-built alternatives. The instructions were clear and everything went together easily except that the connector to interface one of the antenna cables to its USB card was updated since the documentation was made. I did have a little trouble getting the connector firmly attached. Just took some patience, but I got it together. I bought one of the battery packs, the suction cup cradle, and the power cable with the push button that were recommended on the stratux web site. It all works flawlessly and stays where I put it on a window. I use this with iFly EFB on my Samsung Galaxy Android tablet and have no problems at all. I've also flown with this connected simultaneously to my device and my right seater's iPhone and it works seamlessly.

Works as advertised but I recommend a different GPS antenna connection.
I purchased two of these kits and the GPS chip on the first one was damaged and did not function at all. It possibly returned then resold. The second one works as advertised but the GPS antenna included with the kit broke off within a couple of weeks. It is a pretty flimsy connection and not easily disconnected/reconnected. I purchased the following and drilled out the case for the screw on terminal so now the antenna can easily be removed or replaced. See the attached photos with the connection and the resulting GPS status. Just hanging it out the window of my house, it sees 12 satellites. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRBFNLH?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I also purchased a metal sticker and cable management hooks to attach the GPS antenna to the case for storage.

Works well, challenging to assemble.
Kit was complete and the finished unit works great. Assembly process is not trivial, online instructions and videos are helpful. Connecting the tiny coaxial connectors for the GPS pigtail and one of the SDR pigtails was tough for my clumsy fingers. However once it was all together it worked the first try. I use it in flight with Avare running on an old Samsung tablet and it’s proving to be a low cost and effective setup. I recommend the kit only for those very comfortable assembling electronics. Otherwise spend the extra money and buy the completed unit from Crewdog.

Poor reception but otherwise great unit.
The unit goes together quickly but the small antennas really hamper reception. The units is great value with quality parts. I replaced mine with a large antennas kit

Does what it's supposed to.
There are no instructions, but you can find videos online. Product as advertised, aside from the software on the SD card not working. Again, one video search later I updated the software and all is well. Reception is good and consistent, can't ask for much more. Traffic and ads-b radar worked just as well as any other adsb receiver ive ever used, such as the sentry or stratus or a gdl 50. The GPS signal constantly changes accuracy randomly from 10m-93m, so I disabled it in Foreflight and chose to use my iPad's stock GPS. Overall great alternative if you don't want to shell out the extra money for a sentry. Ordered a raspberry pi 3b+ to complete the build.

Reception is garbage, to the point of being dangerous.
Bought it so I didn't have to keep moving my GDL52 between my airplanes. At home on the desk, I noticed it had about 1/10th of the range of my FlightAware receiver, even when using the same antennas. Tried to take it test flying, and traffic would only appear once they were on top of me, even with it sitting on the glareshield of a fabric covered airplane. At one point, I was close enough to my friend to read his tail number, and it still didn't pick him up for more than a second. Additionally, despite flying at 4000' less than 20 miles away from 3 seperate ADS-B ground stations, it never once received a single FIS-B packet. Conversely, my GDL52 will even receive FIS-B when sitting in my hangar if I have the door open. I did all the basic troubleshooting, including matching the SDR serial numbers to their frequencies in the terminal, checking the antenna connections, and trying different antennas. Any more technical troubleshooting is impossible even for the engineering-minded individual because the developer has chosen not to properly document nearly anything. The only time this thing will receive any traffic is once they are already close enough to pose a collision hazard. Plus with the cost of Raspberry Pi's nowadays, you can buy a competently-designed commercial solution for just a few bucks more. Don't waste your time, use your Pi for a different project.

So close to Perfect - one more hole would do it!
This kit is fantastic! It was super easy to assemble, taking only a little bit of finesse to get the antenna wiring to lay nicely. One recommendation would be a kit upgrade to allow for an Ethernet cable to be attached. The port is on the Raspberry Pi, but not accessible through the case. I melted another hole in mine underneath the 978 antenna and fed an Ethernet extension cable through. Turned out well enough that I recommend that modification for anyone looking to hardwire the unit to their network.

Good kit
Best have your ninja wire-stuffing skills honed. Very nice kit, and working for me

Great, affordable kit for ADS-B and GPS input. Very helpful as has improved traffic awareness as well as allow me to do navigating using my wireless Ipad.
