Dropcases Outdoor Nest Cam & Dropcam Pro Case Enclosure in black - Weatherproof Housing - 100% Night-Vision

I sent this back as it is not worth the cost in my opinion. Not only is it expensive there is no adjustment possible of the camera. The only way to angle it down (say near a doorway to show all of the visitor) is to mount it so low that it could easily be knocked off the wall or by making up wedged brackets or packing. I was very disappointed having expected something of real usability, quality and value for the price. It is nicely made though, if you can live with the limitations.I finally installed the Nest Cam under the eaves after sealing the USB cable with silicon and wrapping insulating tape around the cameras outside edge joint - It is now July 2016 and the unit went all through last winter and this summer's rain without issue. By using the cameras mounting base and swivel I was able to angle the camera perfectly. In answer to the smart reply from the supplier after my initial post in the first paragraph.... The case is very brittle and a quick kick or belt with a piece of timber would knock the camera off the wall and because it needs mounting low down near a doorway to cover the person in full (below 4 feet - due to lack of swivel option) it is easily accesible to do so.

Disappointed. Quality is not great given the price. The housing is not water resistant at all and it simply made of cheap extruded plastic. Fixings supplied were of no use. The screws supplied were obviously for mounting to another bracket and strangely supplied with 2 raw plugs that were incompatible with the screws. Night vision glare from the lighting despite what was stated on the item specifically. Not well described all round I'm afraid. Can't return now as I've put it up but I wouldn't recommend I'm afraid. I should have returned it given the price.

Great in daytime but night vision is very fuzzy and granular. It fixed well to the wall but the angle really needed a bracket which is sold separarlnmaking it very expensive all in. Build quality is ok and daytime is fine.

Totally works. Night vision mode is completely sharp, no reflection from the infrared lights.

It is great for remote monitoring of our second home, which is 5,000 miles from our primary residence. Our concern with it is that it gets hot and that this will lead to a short lifespan. We'll see.

No IP rating mentioned and with good reason...... It offers very little protection.This is not an outdoor housing by any stretch of the imagination, if the moisture doesn't get your camera first I'd give the insects moving in to the nice warm housing about a week to totally obscure your view.There's a large hole for the cable which I can comfortably stick my finger through, no gland or attempt made to create a seal around any cable. No o-ring/gasket around the back panel, completely un-sealed. Provided machine screws (with wall plugs, some kind of joke I can only presume ??) provide no means of attaching the back panel or housing to a surface without further modification/parts. Screw holes for securing back panel/mounting penetrate through both the front and rear of housing and connect directly with the internal camera area, again no attempt made at sealing these penetrations.It's a cheap piece of plastic with little thought gone in to it's design or use. At the very least they should include a couple of nuts so you can actually secure the back.

As with other reviews, great for day time but night time is shocking.

This product is great for daytime use. But is useless for nighttime as the IR lights reflect on the glass, the exact opposite of products description. I have made it work however with the fact the area of view is brightly lit so I simply disabled night vision in pebble settings.
