Sea Salt Flakes, 8.5 Ounce Boxes

This is one of those products that, after trying, you wonder how you could go back to mediocrity. If you think there is no real difference between one salt and another, you clearly have not tried Maldon. I received this as a gift from a friend who knows I like to try different salts. I have had flaked salt before, but nothing like this. It is actually crunchy. Depending on what we are eating, I sometimes crush the salt in pinches or leave some of the flakes to crunch a little. Unbelievable on fresh sliced tomatoes. Perfect on a steak. Use this on french fries, and you will be hooked. I use this as a finishing salt and would never waste it in regular recipes. It is very special. I liked it so much, I tried the smoked Maldon salt flakes, and I have been equally happy with that product, as well. It has a very subtle smokiness and is not overwhelming like so many of the smoked salts I have tried, which makes it, too, a good choice as a finishing salt. Absolutely delicious.
