Hygloss 10 Mirror Board Sheets, 12" x 12", Gold

I ordered this for a project I have in mind. I haven't had a chance to assemble the project, but I have taken time to examine the product. These mirror boards are nice and exactly what I was looking for. There seems to be some confusion about the mirror board. People are commenting that they are not as reflective as mirrors. Mirrors are made by a layering process on the back of a sheet of glass. Copper, and silver are applied to the glass & often electroplated. Then the back of the glass is coated with a paint to seal it. The mirror effect can not be achieved without this type of process - which is impossible to do on paper. So, no. The paper is not as reflective as a mirror. It is, however, shiny, and silver, and a reasonable facsimile. Bearing all this in mind, I'm not sure what people expect. I'm looking forward to completing my project, and am happy with my purchase.

Great weight for greeting card accents, about 100lbs cover. Die cuts beautifully, see picture. I deliberately chose intricate dies, they cut cleanly and released easily. There is a little spot of separation of the silver from the backing if you look closely at the letter “y” in jolly but minuscule. Pleasingly reflective, of course not of fine features like a face, but you can see the blue of the wall reflected in the picture. Cut crisply using a paper punch and folded without cracking. Use with confidence for an eye-catching statement.

These have a fuzzy mirror surface. They are designed for scrap books to give you a you mirror like backing. I use one to behind my receiver to improve how my remote works by directing the reflection from the remote. It works, but you have to get the angle just right. My Daughter found uses for several sheets in Her art work. She saw them and ideas just seemed to flow. She was not denied(its a Dad thing). I'm using these as reflective boards for jewelry photography, and they work great. There's enough of them there to cut pieces for directing highlights, and stiff enough that when you tape two together with a tape "hinge," they'll stand up on their own. They are the thickness of standard cardstock...NOT thick "boards" as the name implies. But I could imagine they'd be great for scrapbooking, and they are rigid enough for what I'm using them for. I might spray mount them to foamcore for more rigidity.

Like another reviewer, I also purchased these to use as photographic reflectors when shooting small items. They kick back a fair amount of light and add some nice specular highlights. I have also used them as a shooting surface for jewelry. However, the "boards" need to be mounted on something else prior to use and they need something to help them to stand up on their own. First I mounted the Hygloss Mirror Boards to Just Stick-It! self adhesive foam mounting boards. I then attached Lineco Single Wing Self-Stick Easel Backs to the non-mirror side of the boards. This sets them at a small inclined angle which is fine for what I need. I wish that I could find boards already prepared like this but I have not been able to find them except as a part of a larger kit. I also made some black and some white reflector cards to assist me in my tabletop product photography.

I used this as a back mat for a Jerry Garcia autograph. It looked great in a black modern frame. Claimed to be acid free. I have no reason to disbelieve. It cut easily and didn't delaminate or fray at edges when cut with a paper cutter. Perfect!!

If you are looking for a mirror replacement, this is not the item for you. The reflection isn't mirror quality, and it seems some people are disappointed by that. These are heavy cardstock sheets, 10 in a pack, that have a reflective coating on them. They're great for crafting and that type of thing. They are not meant to replace mirrors. These are terrific for children's therapy and craft activities. I immediately ordered more.

Absolutely unacceptable. They clearly do not check product before sending it out. I purchased the smaller version a while back to test for an art commission, and now that it’s time, the larger sized sheets I ordered came used. I’m missing an entire chunk from the second sheet. It’s also way past the return date. DO NOT TRUST.

Fabulous Electric / royal blue. Cuts beautifully with the Sizzix. Embosses without cracking, peeled a little at the corners though so cut a mm too large then trim down after embossing. Good price point. Your going to love it.
