It works great to prevent dust accumulating on your fan, because your fan won't move air with it on.Great price, great idea, poor execution. I bought it for a 12" fan and even on the smallest size it's supposed to fit, there's no way it would actually have prevented dust coming in the back side, as much space as it left around the motor. A bigger fan would have made the problem even more obvious. And yet, it reduced air movement so completely that there was no point running the fan at all. I literally turned my fan off for two days, because it was just making noise and not doing any work, before deciding to attempt to return this product.If you're one of those people who needs a white noise machine and can't sleep without their fan on, this is a great fix for winter, when you might not want air actually blowing drafts around. Other than that, it's totally pointless. (And seriously, just get a white noise machine.)This is the first negative review I've ever posted in fifteen years of buying stuff online... Just, don't buy this. I wanted to love it, but there's nothing to love about it. Just resolve yourself to the fact that you will have to take your fan apart every couple of months and clean it and enjoy the breeze.

It is exactly as advertised.

quality is very cheap, easily tears and rips while trying to install. Doesn't block very much at all. pretty much a complete waste of money.

Unfortunately, these were looked over with zero quality control.Of the 4 that were sent, I was able to use none of them. 1 was way to small, another had no elastic in it and the other 2 were assembled so portly that the elastic wasn’t even attached to the material.In theory this is a great product. Unfortunately quality control as a manufacturer is a very low priority.

I should have arranged a return, because these filters are for bigger fans. I missed reading the sizes, but, with everything I have going on,I forgot to arrange a return. These would quell for 12"diameter fans, though. The filters are nice because they keep dust from being pulled through the back of the fan. I'm highly allergic to dust.

I had a bit of a time figuring out whether the smaller circle (hole) goes in the front or the back of the fan. But, l am trying it out now. It's a good idea to tape it off and gently wash it in cool water to preserve the 'cellulose' fabric. (looks more substantial than another brand from years ago)

I have used these for years, but difficult to find. I was surprised to see how much stuff was in air, mind we’re almost black in no time. These filters can be used more than once, I wash by hand with mild soap and air dry . These filters also help to keep blades clean.

The item I received was a ring. The filter should cover the front of fan. I put it on wrong but feel this is the ONLY way this will work as a semi filter? Fraction filter? The pictures Amazon shows are deceiving. Also, it doesn’t fit my 16 inch fan. I ordered a different brand and will see when that one comes if it’s a proper filter
