I understand you mentioned this resin is fragile, but is it at least stable enough to have a carving drill taken to it?

I think it would be fine to carve but if u drop it it's going to crack

Could you use a heat gun to melt a plastic milk jug over it to make molds over & over, or would it melt too?

Do not purchase it. It is not life-size. It is not one to one. It is smaller than life size. And yes, it would most likely melt if you melted a plastic milk jug over it.
