Affordable security camera
Affordable and easy to install (instructions NOT great) via you tube video. Get live feed and recorded video on my Samsung phone.

Disappointed with these two.
I bought two of these to add to the system where three were already being used but sadly the two new ones have let me down. When they arrived one camera had a broken shutter and it was just moving around inside the camera and the other one worked at first but now after just over a month the camera is stuck in night vision mode. Working but now only shows a black and white image.

Simpliaverage
I don't often leave three stars on a review. Most of what I have reviewed on amazon has always lived up to my expectations and I normally give four or five stars. However, on this occasion I'm afraid to say that this camera fell short of what I expected. It arrived in a simple yet nice looking box, and inside I found the camera, a cable and surprisingly a plug (which doesn't happen often). The camera itself looked great. It was weighty and had a metal base, and it was nicely built. it looked premium and worth the money... but unfortunately, the appearance is the only thing about it that I can praise. As for functionality, it doesn't work quite how I had hoped. Set up was the first hurdle I struggled to get over. In order to get the wifi connected you have to scan a qr code. The code appears on the phone app and the camera has to scan it... but ten minutes later I was still swinging my phone around trying to get the camera to find it. In the end I had to use my iPad and the bigger screen finally got it to work. When the camera was set up and at last upon my window shelf, I turned on the live feed, and everything was white. I thought it was broken, and I could barely see anything. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and after three attempts it finally worked. The image was clearer, so I don't quite know what happened at the start. The image quality is average. The picture is colour if you turn off night vision and it isn't the worst quality. Sound playback is awful though so keep it muted. The image does look quite good, but that's only when the camera is working. I have viewed the live feed a few times now on my phone, and the connection keeps dropping and the camera goes off. I have also tried the live feature on the laptop using the website, but each time I try it, I manage to view 5 seconds before the image freezes and I have to refresh the browser. I feel like I am saying nothing but bad things about this camera, but that's because I haven't had the best experience with it. Aside from that, there is still something else which annoyed me. There isn't a slot for an SD card. As I write this review, I am comparing this camera to a neos smart cam (which I already own) and I must say the neos is superior in every way, for half the price. The neos allows an sd card to be installed to record constantly, but with this camera you have to pay £4.99 a month to be able to record footage. Unless you pay, you can't record. So all this camera is good for is looking at a live feed of my back garden. I may as well just look out of the window. If something happens, like someone breaking into my shed... I have no evidence, because I won't pay £4.99 a month to record. I would have liked the option to use an sd card to record all day, just like the neos offers. The camera looks and feels great, but it just doesn't function well. I struggle to see how this can possibly be worth almost £50. I love my neos smart cam... and I wanted to love this, but it just doesn't work well for me. I don't like giving three stars, but I just couldn't bring myself to give this camera any higher. There are flaws that need urgent attention. An SD card slot needs to be added to future models if they are to keep up with neos.

Needs subscription
I have the Simplisafe hub at home and I have subscribed to their service. Without a subscription, buying this camera is a waste of money. This was easy to install. It literally only took me a couple of minutes. It is easy to use. Pretty self-explanatory. It has some really cool features like recording, being able to watch live video, and even dual audio. I think it is amazing that you can also have a monitoring service hooked to it I really like this camera. It is small enough to fit anywhere. The picture and audio quality is average. I placed it in a corner of the living room, facing the front door. We can see and hear anyone coming in. The picture output is in black and white.

Poor video and unadvertised subscription needed to use
When this arrived, it at first looked like a decent little security camera that ticked a lot of boxes - unobtrusive, seemingly well-made, and easy to set up and install. Unfortunately that is where things go wrong. The picture quality is poor and very dark, and, without paying a monthly subscription, all you can do is watch the not-very-good-quality live feed. While I don’t mind paying a subscription for a decent security camera, it does annoy me when the product page says that the makers believe in fair pricing, but you don’t find out until you open the box that you need to pay a subscription. This seems rather disingenuous - especially when the quality of the feed that you can see without paying is so poor. Very disappointing.

Need to pay a subscription of £4.99 to record footage
This is a nice looking and seemingly well made security camera. We wanted to use it to keep surveillance on an old house we are renovating. Some items had disappeared from the garage recentlySetting up was pretty straight forward. You download the App and then scan a QR code in the app to the camera. The camera is connected via wifi. You are then able to view live feed both in picture and sound on your phone 24/7All in it worked quite well. Picture quality is ok, not wonderful but we could see the surrounding area clearly during the day. ~Oddly, the p[icture at night time was clearer on the day setting than on the night. There is a motion sensor which worked when the neighbours dog was sniffing around the garage and the camera sent an alert to the phone. There isn't an SD slot and to record video you will need to pay a subscription of £4.99 per month to record videoThey don't say that in the advertisement and I think they should.
