This is a task that you can do yourself.
This relay is the only that i needed to repair my 27 year old refrigerator. Repair facilities informed me that they probably didn't have the part for a fridge that old. A couple of YouTube videos suggested the possible cause of not getting cold, with the relay being one of the possibilities. The relay was the cheap fix, why not give it a try. Results were amazing and the outcome, I didn't have to purchase a new one or pay a repairman 20 times as much. The job takes less than 30 minutes. This is definitely the best route to go.

Failed after 2 weeks
Chalk up another one to cheap parts. I bought and installed this in my fridge/freezer 2 weeks ago. It worked fine until crapping out again this weekend. Luckily I hadn't replaced everything in there again yet, but still lost some meat and ice cream. Without a better quality replacement part, I'm going to be living in constant fear this will repeatedly go down and I'll continue losing all my food.UPDATE! - upon taking the backing off the fridge to again swap this part out, this faulty part had fully disintegrated. The cheap replacement I used caused a small fire that melted the wires, disintegrated the relay and overload, melted the plastic cover, and left soot all over the place. Now in the process of replacing the whole fridge and would definitely avoid using this replacement part.

Worked for my Maytag 23 year old fridge
Went to get some items out the freezer and noticed some water on the floor. Figured it was the day. 23 years is very good for a fridge to last. Pulled everything out and put in my spare deep freezer. Upon further inspection I noticed the compressor was stupid hot. Figured it locked up. Left it off over night and tried again in the morning. Air coming out in the freezer was cool but not cold so I knew compressor wasn’t locked up. Figured out the compressor was short cycling. Kicking on and off too soon to cool the Freon through the pump and coils. Pulled off the relay and when I shook it sounded like broken glass on the inside. Ordered these replacement parts and low and behold the damn thing is working. Don’t know how much longer it will last but for now I have time to put some money aside for when it does actually go out.

Lasted 7 months. 3 stars may be generous. Will see how replacement replacement does.
Put replacement replacement in and freezer is working again.

Fixed my Maytag Refrigerator
Maytag was making clicking noises, twice (separated about 8 seconds) every 3 minutes and the freezer was not working, fan was blowing but not cooling so the frozen meat/ice creams began dripping water.I only used the start replay (and NOT the protector) from this seller. The old one I removed was making noises when shaking and that was a clear sign of a broken one.I had to squeeze more on the connector to make it a good and firm contact and then it worked all good! $10 for the rescue !!
