I have worn the watch for a little over a week now. The watch arrived securely packed in a box with no apparent damage. Start up was easy - simply remove the plastic piece behind the stem, adjust the time and push the stem back in. During the time I've worn the MDC, it has kept accurate time compared to my other dressier watch. It is comfortable and classy looking with a satin finish case. The word "Infantry" is printed on the clasp. I did not evaluate the watch's waterproof capability since I don't wear my watch in the shower or swimming; however, I did not take any steps to shield the watch when I washed my hands and occasionally splashed water on it with no apparent problems. The MDC could benefit from having a stronger dose of whatever allows it to glow in the dark, as I was never able to read the watch in total darkness. It could also benefit from having slightly larger hour and minute hands since the dial is pretty busy with a lot of other characters. All in all, the MDC seems to be a great entry level watch for a very reasonable price tag! I will take great enjoyment in wearing it in the future.

We assume that youngsters prefer fancy items but they actually prefer items that are simple and when it comes to watches - analog type. So we bought this for our son and he loved it ! It is something he can wear everyday without thinking what would happen if he lost it etc Not to mention it was nice on our budget too.

UPDATED REVIEW:I must give Infantry five stars for customer service. They saw my original review and contacted me and sent a replacement, along with an apology about how sometimes stuff happens after it leaves the factory.The new watch does all the things that a watch should do, so I could have just had one that was beat up on the way to me.It has survived a month of normal usage, including showers and surface swimming without condensation.My original comment about hard to read still applies. My daughter with 20/15 vision thinks it is fine. I suggest taking the picture on this page and shrinking it so it is 40mm wide (that's the dimension of the outside of the round metal frame) to see what it will look like. (I've also determined that 40mm is a bit larger than I like to have on my wrist, although it is typical of mens watches)I find the hands are very narrow and don't always stand out against the other markings. I've also noted that the minute hand is on top of the hour hand, so once an hour it only has one hand visible and it takes a few seconds to process.It doesn't advertise as glow in the dark, and I'm pretty sure there is none.ORIGINAL REVIEW: (was 1 star)hard to read. plus it didn't keep timeMy eyes are not the best, so I spent a day trying to tell what time it was. I had been looking for a 40mm, field-style, battery powered utility watch for literally years. Tried some more expensive brands (returned for various reasons), and then a Timex, but the date broke after a few months and it's extremely loud.This field watch is perfect in almost every way. It's virtually silent, has kept time over the few weeks I've had it, and has survived showers, etc.The main downside is the night visibility is not great; the luminescence is barely visible even after being out in the California sun all day. But so far it has only been a small annoyance. My only other worry is about the durability, but at this price, I'm just hoping for the best. Honestly one of the best watch purchases I've made in a long time.Update: About a week after my initial review it appeared that a seal had failed and condensation fogged up the lens. Interestingly the watch still worked (but I couldn't see it most of the time). I reached out to the company, and Dora got right back to me and sent a replacement out immediately. I wish more companies had service like that!
