Can the sheath be worn horizontally without the purchase of addictional items like paracord?

Yes, it can be. You don't need to buy anything, All you need to do is to unscrew the plastic sheath, reposition it (the sheath), and screw it back on again. Now your KaBar will be in the horizontal position.

Are the straps on the sheath compatible with MOLLE webbing?

I answered yes by mistake. They have the sheath with the clip and the molle backing. If u get the molle it will work fine. If u get the clip for inside the waste carry it wont fit between the webbing
