So initially I actually hated these. But I gave them some time and a little practice (Especially with how much pressure I put on the graphite) it's turned out pretty awesome. If you press lightly, it creates a very feint blue that works well as a base layer for ink or darker graphite. Once I got the hang of it, I actually drew cleaner more concise sketch lines with this vs normal graphite due to how it interacts with the paper. I have a feeling I will go through this stuff fairly quickly. A fair warning, do not sharpen with a rotary sharpener. The graphite is very soft and will snap easily in a rotary sharpener. I'd go with an old manual style sharpener, my personal favorite being the Uni. I would not recommend if you have a heavy hand, unless you really want to practice pressing lighter first.

These are the best pencils to draw with. Easy to sharpen without breakage. Love them.

This lead, which was originally used in drafting applications, is now used in custom writing pencil/pen sets. These new pencils have a lead advancing mechanism like current .5mm/ .7mm/ .9mm pencils available in any office supply store, but use this much larger 2mm lead. The cap includes a pointer for the lead like those used in drafting. The advantage of this lead is that it is very sturdy and doesn't break easily; but it can be pointed to be as sharp as you like. By choosing the appropriate hardness, you can write for a long time before repointing is necessary. This is probably more work than some are willing to do and doesn't fit all writing applications but it is unique. This lead has always been the best of it's kind and it's good to see it repurposed. There are twelve leads per container so it lasts a long time. Be careful when you purchase it. Some vendors are packaging large quantities together, and some are charging an exorbitant amount for it. This vendor has a very good price.
