The zany and vivid descriptions of Bill Fitzhugh are a delight to read
When I read the first book, Pest Control, I was riveted. The zany and vivid descriptions of Bill Fitzhugh are a delight to read. My main disappointment with the second book of this series is that that the story focuses on the myriad characters rather than the setting. Don't get me wrong, the characters are still as interesting as ever, but I wish Fitzhugh had incorporated more on the city itself. Pest Control was fun because of how it practically made New York a own character. In The Exterminators, the focus is on Hollywood rather than Los Angeles. Overall, still worth a read, but not as good as the first one.

They're back and I couldn't be happier.
Nothing makes me laugh out loud in public like a Bill Fitzhugh book. Pest Control was a revelation--a smart, funny, rollicking romp. Well, Bob and Klaus are back and in ever-more-hilarious trouble. Just when you think things can't possibly get any worse...oh yes, they can and will. The story's a riot, the characters are unforgettable, but as always it's Fitzhugh's commentary on the whole mess that makes this book a complete delight. Would someone please bring out his books on audio, with him reading? You don't need to read Pest Control first to enjoy this one. But let's face it, you're going to want to read it when you're done, so why not buy them both at once?I know it just came out two weeks ago. Is it too soon to hope he's working on the next one?

Killer story.
I chose this book because I liked his first book, Pest Control, and had a few giggles. I enjoyed the comedy aspect and good natured tone of the writing. I would recommend it for a day of lite, entertaining whimsy, teenage to adult.

Bugs can be scary,!
I bought as a gift to my exterminator who is very knowledgeable about entomology.. I have read it in the past and enjoyed the writing.

Lots of fun
I am a fan of Bill Fitzhugh but I wasn't aware of this sequel to "Pest Control" (which should be read before "Exterminators"). This was enjoyable reading. Not much else to say about it.

Enjoyable, but not as fun as the first book
I did find this to be a fun read and I liked the book but it didn't have the same zany energy as Pest Control - this one is a bit darker, more reminiscent of Organ Grinders.

Dark humor. ...very funny
This is an easy read with characters galore! The story is too funny (laugh out loud) yet a little frightening. It is a good read!

fun and entertaining read, but definitely not for those with a bug phobia
I thought Pest Control was great fun and was clever with it. The Exterminators, which is set six years later, has the same style and wit, but the plotting was not quite so spot on, with a couple of loose threads (such as French assassin whose plotline kind of goes nowhere), a couple of nonsensical bits (at least to me, such as the CIA agent’s actions), and a less fluid flow. That said, it is still very clever and well executed in parts -- the threads and explanation around genetic engineering, DARPA, and the fundamental religious right and how it sees the world and tries to manipulate the media were excellent. And Fitzhugh mixes together a nicely drawn set of characters, though Klaus’ assassination skills are somewhat underplayed, as are the roles of Mary and Katy, Bob’s wife and daughter. Overall then, a fun and entertaining read, but definitely not for those with a bug phobia.

Bob wins a big bug contract, but there's a fly in the ointment...
Bob and his assassin buddy Klaus team up and are still in hiding with false identities. Then six years later there's a knock on the door. They have been found by a government agent who offers them a research contract, which is too good to refuse. But the agent is not what he seems and the friends fall head first into another hilarious adventure with sinister results. A must buy.June Finnigan - writer
