Nice adjustable sound
This amp is perfect for my son’s needs. He’s starting to play with the church’s band and this amp is not too heavy to handle. Sound is clear and you can adjust it to your liking, and you can also connect a mic and the volume knob for it is separate. Great deal for such a versatile amp!

Good practice amp.
I bought this amp to replace my 1997 Crate gtx15 practice amp. I wasn't expecting it to be much louder or to arrive in one piece, from all the bad reviews and having bought a refurbished model. The box was beat up, but the amp was ok, looked like it was just an amp someone returned. It is lighter than my gtx15 and the build quality is ok. Definitely would not sit on it, as it's not as sturdy as my gtx15. The plastic knobs are crooked, but not the potentiometers. An easy fix, if something like that bothers you. It's a little louder than a 15w, clean. The on board distortion isn't very loud on the highest setting. It's pretty punchy on the low end and could possibly be used as "overdrive".The delay / reverb can't be turned off completely and can still be slightly heard at the lowest setting (0). Not a problem for me, since I use these effects. The effects don't work on the mic channel, as I expected. It is brighter than my other amps and only had to crank the treble halfway, instead of full, like I usually do. I played a strat, a lp custom, an acoustic and even a bass on this amp and they all sounded good, as they should, just not enough bass response. The bass guitar sounded like a bass being played on guitar practice amp, no surprise there. Always good if you only want one small amp for practice.Definitely not worth the hundred or so dollhairs that it sells for new, on its own. I'm glad I only plopped down 58 bucks for the refurbished teal model. It says its green, as in seafoam green, but it's more teal or turquoise in color. It is loud, if you happen to own and use distortion, overdrive or amp modeling pedals. It definitely sounds like a 40w amp and has better bass response with distortion and modeling pedals.I would have given this amp five stars, if it was less expensive and had better and more onboard effects (like the gtx15) and if it was louder out of the box.I would recommend this as a practice amp or starter amp, if you can find it for less. It could even be used for garage jam sessions or small gigs, if you already have effect pedals.

Turns on and has a speaker.
I ordered a "refurbished" unit, white. As expected the box was trashed. There was one external blemish. The unit powered on as expected and was modest in loudness. There was a rattle from low F# to A#, turns out the power transformer was loose, probably why it was returned in the first place. When I went to get the back off I learned just how cheap these materials are. The low density fiber board is soft and crummy, the glue to hold the PU on the board is flaky. I also discovered the speaker is an 8ohm not a 4ohm so this should be labeled as a 30 watt amp. I recommend adding some cotton batting or similar to take up some of the internal reflections. There is no chance in hell the folks who are tasked with refurbishing would have turned the volume up enough to notice the rattle, and I am happy to work on my own stuff. Ruining the materials to gain access is a big reason to not get this if you are the kind of person who wants to tinker. If new and cheap is the goal this will work but a used amp at the same price point is sure to get you further.

Plays the 12 gauge just fine!
Not worth the money. Bass channel is gone. you never know what your going to get tone wise. If you continuously spin the knobs back and forth you can get something working sometimes. Other times the tone is random. It just sets its self.I knew a 100 dollar amp was going to be crap but this random tone BS is just too much. Took it out back and played my 12 gauge though it, 4 rounds. Damn thing works great as a target!
