Catit Vesper High Base Extra Large Cat Tree, Cat Furniture, 52060, Walnut

This is a very nice cat tree. When I saw the product page I was so taken with the red model I nearly ordered it, but settle for the tamer white since it went much better with our color scheme. It is a great looking cat tree, if you hate those ugly carpeted things but also don't care about eradicating every trace of actually having a cat. It is clearly a cat tree, but a damn good looking one.I have to point out there are actually no instructions included. BUT, they point you to a video and with one first watch-thru and some timely pausing on a second run as we assembled, it was fairly easy to put together. Once we had it up, it was surprisingly sturdy. I've poked and prodded at carpeted cat trees on every PetSmart visit, and have always been a little skeptical about their structural integrity. This thing refuses to wobble! They gave it a nice heavy and broad base, and there aren't any platform areas balanced on cardboard poles.I only wish they made much taller models. My ball of fur loves climbing- I suppose he sees it as a challenge, having only 3 legs. However, the top cave section is his favorite spot in the house. I have it in a corner with so he has a choice of two windows- look out at cars and occasionally people, or look at the neighbors and his favorite little tree. He's managed to rip off two of the twig balls, but one is still hanging in there after many months. He rarely has time to loiter in the lower boxes, preferring his tube-throne.We are all very happy with this tree.

It looks nice. I was worried from reviews that it would be difficult to put together. My concern in buying one of these from a shop was the weight of the bigger towers. So having it delivered got me more than half way there. Pulled items out of box, laid them out and then just followed the diagram on “instruction” sheet. I listened to a continuing Ed webinar while assembling so maybe that made it seem to go faster but it took less than an hour to put together. No extra tools needed. Now, I just need a customer! I was able to bribe our “visiting” kitty to try it out by placing treats on various levels. Our home kitty so far does not seem interested. I was hoping she’d find another window sunspot but we shall see

For the vesper double - the box building section of 1-4 should be WAY more direct about what pieces for C1 and C2 as it never depicts what should be the top/bottom. I had to rebuild a couple times and no matter what combination I used, the screws for the top of the bottom box NEVER connected. This meant the second box was NEVER secure sitting on box one. I ended up using my own power tools and screws to make it work.One of the other top pieces for C2 has plastic fittings that made the screws connect beautifully but lacking that for C1 meant it was unsteady and unsafe.I’ve built plenty of furniture and desks and have never seen such lazy instructions. The video was generic and the holes they show for their pieces DO NOT ALIGN with the pieces in the box. So chaotic.Once put together, yes, it is pretty. It doesn’t look cheap. It’s nice quality but good lord not worth the hassle of that building experience.

Things I wish I had known:- The cubes and top enclosure are large enough for my 12lb cat.- The sections (cubes/top/bottom) easily come apart like ikea furniture so it is easy to unscrew it into three individual sections (huge bonus for moving)- There is an indentation in the wood where the dangly three ball thing connects so it looks bad if you dont attach it.- the styrofoam they use to pack it (and those "do not eat" packs) explode everywhere when you open it.- its not so hard to put together -- but did take me about 45 minutes. Its just like Ikea -- make sure you use a picture for reference or the cube doors will be wrong)- after 2 months my scaredy cat would cozy up to it- dont believe the people who say it smells bad, it doesnt smell at allOverall I love it, and so do my cats. They don't really sleep in the bottom cube, but spend tons of time in the top one. Hands down the most beautiful cat tower you can buy -- even better looking in person.Wish there was another scratching/burlap surface on both sides of the tall vertical surface.

our cats prefer a taller cat tree because they’re pretty high-energy, and they love this one so far. the sisal posts definitely shed so if that’s something that will bother you, don’t get this one! for height and aesthetic value though, along with cat appreciation, this is a great cat tree.

Plusieurs produits Vesper, je constate une baisse de qualité flagrante sur ce dernier arbre à chat acheté (alors que c'était parfait il y a quelques années). Plein de traces impossible à enlever comme vous le verrez en photo. Pour le prix c'est inadmissible.

Bought the Vesper High Base (the shorter version of this) around 18 months ago and purchased this one to replace it, given that the scratching posts wore out and there are no replacement parts in stock..This model is far sturdier than the high base for some reason & also looks great. Easy to assemble too. Just be mindful you will struggle to find replacement scratching posts when the original ones inevitably wear out. Catit customer service isn’t great either. Other than that, highly recommend the product.
