I like the secret wave. I use it to make dreads on my hair. Works really well with what I want. If you are looking for something to make big loose curls, this product is not for you.

Like many of the other reviewers, I was very unhappy with the kind of wave made by this gadget. It is NOT the beachy waves promised, but looks like a mild crimp, or braids that have been taken out. It makes the hair look dry and frizzy. You'd do much better with a cone-shaped, tapered iron instead.Or, better yet, get a diffuser attachment like the Wind Spin or Spin Curl, which is a sleeve that fits over the end of a blowdryer- you jam a hank of hair on there, use the dryer for about 15 seconds, and it blows the hair into a coil that, one cooled off, you break up with your fingers. They make perfect beach waves, but you have to do them all over your head, maybe eight coils. This product has a similar action, yet none of the effectiveness, and I can't for the life of me figure out why not. Those diffuser products should be much more popular than they are.

It makes my hair look frizzy. Though my hair is currently shoulder length, I feel like it will work better on longer hair where I can use bigger sections and only use it on the bottom part. I think I'll keep it and wait to try it on longer hair. Smaller sections, tighter twists, more crimped looking hair. Bigger sections will be looser and more natural looking, I think.Update: I’m happy with the results now. Longer than shoulder length and I do it as 4 total sections. My hair is thick. If your hair is thin, try using it on half your hair. The bigger the section, the better the wave

Had to return it not because there was anything wrong with the product but because my hair is thin and this product does not seem to work well with thin hair.

It only takes 10 minutes to do both sides of my hair I really dont have much and altho the curls are more spiral rather than beach waves u just have to not let the curl tighten too much. It does heat up fast and curls does not last too long u have to add alot of hair spray . Im glad I got it and its still absolutely a better buy than any other place.

I had one of these years ago and loved it. Bought this new one and had a bad experience. I used it once but it burned my hair up. I had to go get 3 inches of my hair cut off after one time using it. My hair felt great but maybe this machine is not good for bleached or color treated hair. I won’t be using it again bc my hair has never been this burned up and I use all sorts of heated products. Honestly I could not believe I had to go get so much of my hair cut off bc of the burning but my hair was breaking and terribly damaged after just the one use.If your hair is bleached or perhaps dry or Brittie I do NOT recommend using this product. Beware of burning off your hair.

I ordered this even though there's a lot of negative reviews on it but I'm pleasantly surprised! I used bigger sections of hair to make sure it didn't look too braided. I also think using a heat protector spray beforehand makes a difference in making it less frizzy looking. I'm kinda diggin' it!
