Lower grit pads aren’t the greatest, wear thin, low surface contact.
When you polish any type of engineered or natural stone, the lowest grit, is one of the most important, if scratches aren’t removed , they will remain until the end. Due to scratch locations, or if you are dressing a seam up, or cleaning up after an edge profile has been sculpted, deeper scratched are going to be there. You will have to shift your pad to work them out. Think of what the imprint would look like if a man m stuck his chest to a window, now do the same for the ladies. The imprint left behind by the woman, would have areas made contact much sooner in some of the areas, causing the areas that aren’t rounded, to wear out quicker. If you have a flat surface, chances are a pad able to make constant contact, would be better. Take that with a grain of salt, this is coming from someone who polished every day.Factors to consider:The type of project (Touch up, new countertops, polish an existing counter or floor), the size of the area, what type of material are you polishing, and water run off.* Wet/Dry- Water helps the pad plow over the surface easier, it cleans the surface area, controls harmful dust, and I will add longevity to this item.** Aluminum backing pad great for concrete, and terrazzo floors, areas that are not subject to breaking.

Only ones I use now
I have tried several types of diamond pads. Both dry and wet. I use them to grind/polish concrete planting pots. The pots are about 43" wide by 22" tall. They are round so very hard to grind/polish and take many hours. I use all the way from 50 grid to 3000 grid. Once I get past 400 grid the shine starts. By the time I get to 3000 they look very nice. I think the flexibility of them makes a big difference They are the only ones I use now..

Awesome
These are fantastic. The fact they work dry is why I bought these ones and they work beautifully without water

Shdiatool dry diamond polishing pads
Just finished tiling a kitchen and a bathroom, about 160 square feet. The pads are still in excellent condition. I highly recommend them for wall and floor stone installation.

Perfect for quartz
Used it for 2 sink cutout. The set did a great job but, I probably should have bought a sanding drum style set. Turning flat yet flexible discs only allows them a small area to sand/wear.

Send your tile cutting game to the next level
If you are starting off as a tile layer and you don't polish the edges of the tile when you cut it, you got to get these. You can make any cut look factory with these bad boys. I use them for any tile that you will see the edge and they work flawlessly. Highly recommend

Wouldn't do tile without them again
Really nice addition to tile tools. These things are awesome smoothing edged or even shaping tile. Only issue I had was the velcro on the rubber pad started to lift at one spot as peeling the pads off pulls pretty hard. Very satisfied with the purchase

It's okay....
The pads aren't bad at all, but peel the pads off the backer pad slowly and gingerly and watch the velcro to come off the backer pad... I polished one kitchen sink with it and by the time I finished, the velcro had almost completely come off. But the pads do a decent job for the money.. but I don't expect them to last too long either..
