I'm doing up a house, getting it ready for sale in a couple of months. I was getting sick and tired of trying to measure stuff with a tape measure... anything over a couple of feet... and you know the drill, it bends and drops of the piece you're trying to measure... it comes loose.In short... measuring with a tape measure is a colossal pain in the backside... unless you've got some ridiculously expensive one that costs twice as much as this does.This item though... so quick and easy to use... and it's very accurate. I've found myself using it for silly things... like how far from my bedroom window the house the next road over... ok, so it can't measure that far (about 60mts or so I think), but it can measure the length of my garden... just over 23mts, it told me that a section I wanted to put some scaffold boards as a boarder was 3.8mts... and scaffold boards are 3.9mts and could be fitted without any trimming required as they slip down behind the end of a wall.It's accurately measured for carpeting and underlay in several rooms, let me work out how skirting and lino was required in the bathroom.Just a word of warning though.There's a button on there that adjusts the measurement... it either accounts for the depth of the device, or without the depth of the device.So under no circumstances should you accidentally press that button whilst measuring and unknowingly knock about 10cm of the measurement you write down... and then unknowingly cut the bath panel too short... and by too short, I mean about 10cm too short... which then means you have to go out and buy a new one so you can do it right.But I only made that mistake once.It's also got other features, so you can work out the square of an area... very handy for carpeting, and even the cubic size of a room... handy for working out how much wall paper you might need.It's worth the cost at £20 just to avoid the cursing and time wasted trying to use a frickin tape measure.

This is a great little tool, seems to be quite accurate. It's not a replacement for a tape measure but is a very handy addition to the toolbox. Great value too.

Excellent - easy to use, multiple functions. Seems pretty accurate for all that i have used it for. Easily visible read-out. Good value at the price and from independent reviews, holds up well against more expensive competitors

It is easy to setup. The measures are quick and pretty accurate. It makes measuring far easier than the tap measure. It worth the price. But it has a few small design issues. otherwise, I would give it 5 stars.- The measure button in at front middle. It is either too easy to press it by accident some times, or too difficult to reach it. It is also too close to other buttons. I pressed other buttons many times by accident.- The two spirit levels are too far apart from each other. One of them is at bottom corner and covered by hand all the time. It is almost impossible to look at them at the same time.- The meansure button and the two spirit levels are on the same side of the device. if you hold the device up right to read the levels, you cannot reach the button. If you hold the device side way, at least one level doesn't work or covered by hand.- The laser is not bright enough in bright condition outdoor. I measured a garden about 10 meters wide. The laser is still visible. But some times take me while to find where the red dot is.

I got this as we are doing our kitchen up, this has been a good send. For the price it's functionality is amazing. Very accurate, as I compared to a measuring tape. The future is here! It's also small and can carry in your pocket. My 4 year old so. Could use it.
