Great Recorder for the Price!
Clear sound, tons of storage, and the voice-activated feature saves space by only recording when someone is talking. Battery lasts through long meetings, and password protection gives peace of mind. For under $40, this is a solid recorder for lectures, interviews, or work meetings.

First look- First try.
Bought this to take notes to myself for the purpose of writing, catching those spontaneous moments where the right words of ideas pop into your head. Needed pocket size, high reliability, ease of use.First thing you notice is weight. This is not a plastic lightweight; it's heavy for it's very compact size, and solid.Second thing (and i really appreciate this) is that the instructions are in normal size type and don't require a microscope to read. Instructions are lengthy and complete, but could be better organized in a walk-you-through kind of form. But, it is all there- just take a while to bring it together in your head. While I need to become adept at use (like most electronics today, some buttons have multiple functions and there are menu stacks) the device recorded accurately and played back clearly. This is an easy device to pocket-carry. Size is probably ideal for it's many functions. Video screen display is modest resolution and size, but sufficient for it's purpose of displaying status and options. Overall the device seems to fit my purpose well. Pending the test of daily use, this gadget passes the initial tests well.

I'm happy with my purchase
The item is nice and robust. It has a good weight to it and feels like it is quality made. I have not found anything yet of any sort that would make me think that it is dysfunctional at all. It appears to work well, It is a good size, not too big nor small.I used to have a Olympus brand of recorder before, many years ago. I never owned another one. That one I let the replaceable batteries run down and for some reason it took a crap because of that apparently. It was not cheap either. I paid well over $50 for it. But that is all that I can compare this to and I have to say that I like how this looks and feels. All I can do is list the things I like about it and then some things I wasn't all that crazy about. First my positive observations.Pros:1. Nice weight. Doesn't feel cheap. Most is probably the battery weight I'm guessing.2. Quality feeling metal enclosure.3. Positive feeling clicks from the buttons and switches.4. Decent clarity of the recordings. (Understand, this is for recording voice notes, not concerts)5. Color and professional look.6. Lanyard hole in the case body.7. Multiple recording format options.8. Readable display although some fonts are pretty compacted. Now here are some things I did not really get all excited about. But not deal-breakers for me anyway, not at this price point.1. The backlight. You can't turn it off. Here's the problem with that. You will be recording all button presses and switch clicks. When it times out and the display is off you have to press a button "click" to light up the display and then press a button "click" to pause it. These click sounds can be rather loud on playback when listening closely to a voice recorded at a distance.2. The length of time before recording starts. Unless you are anticipating the recording of something it will probably take you a good 10 seconds before recording starts. Reaction time, then a 3 second boot time, then a somewhat 5 second wait for it to initialize the record function and start recording.3. Does not automatically save the recording. A majority of recordings are not accidental but if you don't slide the record switch down before shutting down it will not save it.The manual is not all that intuitive and some terminology is assumed unless you test it. The sleeper function is one example. I thought it was to record for a certain length of time and stop. All it is for is an auto-off function if not used for any length of time. I also couldn't figure also why there would be a lanyard connection point in the casing but no lanyard was included.Bottom line is that I am fine with this unit and without comparing it to others it is okay in my opinion. All in all it is a usable recorder for $40 and completely functional for the purpose it is intended for.

Not accurate voice recording when matched to iPhone video.
This is a good tool for recordings. I am having problems exactly matching the sound with video from by iPhone. It is has about a 2% deviation from the iPhone sound track ind the audio file. unfortunately it is not a simple fix in Premiere Element. I am not an expert but I am looking for a better recorder for conversations.

BEST EVER Digital Voice Recorder
✅ Pros:• Excellent Audio Quality: The built-in microphones capture clear, crisp audio, even in moderately noisy environments. It handles both quiet voices and louder environments without distortion.• Slim and Lightweight: It’s incredibly portable—small enough to fit in a shirt pocket without noticing it’s there.• Fast Charging and Long Battery Life: USB direct charging is a game-changer. A full charge lasts for multiple sessions, often up to 20+ hours depending on usage.• Built-in Storage + MicroSD Expansion: The internal 4GB is sufficient for most casual users, but the MicroSD slot allows for easy expansion, which is perfect for longer recordings.• Easy File Transfer: Plug it directly into a USB port and drag files like you would from a flash drive. No special software needed.⚠️ Cons:• Buttons Feel a Bit Small: While the device is compact, the small buttons may be a bit fiddly for users with larger hands.• Basic Display: The screen is functional but minimal. Navigating folders or playing back specific files could be more intuitive.• No Bluetooth or Wi-Fi: It’s all wired, so there’s no way to wirelessly transfer files or pair with a smartphone.🎯 Best For:• Journalists• Students• Podcasters on a budget• Anyone needing reliable audio notes on the go📝 Final Thoughts:If you’re looking for a dependable, high-quality digital voice recorder without breaking the bank, the Sony ICD-UX570 is a fantastic choice. It strikes a great balance between performance and price, and its ease of use makes it accessible for beginners and pros alike.
