This lamp gives off a good light. Putting the lampshade on was a puzzle because the metal piece could go up or down. Putting the metal piece with the Curve up makes it show above the shade. The proper way is to put the metal piece down so it doesn't show above the lamp shade.. unless you like that look. I noticed on the reviews that I was not the only one that had to puzzle it out. We don't all think the same way. This one has a foot on off switch

My 89 year old mother purchased this lamp for her apartment and asked me to come by and assemble it. Considering it came in flat box, I was skeptical of the quality not to mention what a lampshade in a flat box would look like. No worries. Assembled very quickly. Sections screwed together without threading issues and maintained a tight fit. Lamp shade was most ingenious. Well-constructed material, nicely finished on all ends and fitted around 2 wire hoops via Velcro that was sewn in. Included a dimmable bulb that produced warm lighting. The only "issue" my mom had was she wanted the lamp lower; not so tall. Nice feature is having the ability to tilt the lampshade.I like the lamp so much that my mom bought one for my birthday. The product gets a 5-star. Amazon gets a 1-star due to how they prepared lamp for shipping. My mom's lamp came in the manufacturer's box and then packed in an Amazon box with packing material. My lamp arrived in a torn, battered, dirty manufacturer's box with dents and corners mashed.Definitely recommend the lamp.

The lamp is short but where I have it sitting, the height actually works.Love the bronze color.Was easy to put together.I was a little concerned when I saw how the lampshade was rolled up very small and the box said to paste the shade together. You do not need to actually paste it. It comes with little clips inside the shade that you hook onto the rings that comes with it. And then you velcro the two ends together. The only thing I didn't like about it is the little button that you step on to turn it on and off is very close to the lamp and I have the lamp behind a sectional. So I'm going to have to velcro the button up the pole for access. Otherwise it would be useless because that is the only way it works is with the button. There is no other way to turn it on and off. I do like the bulb that came with it and the different kinds of light it has. That's very nice. I cannot speak to durability as I just got it today. Although if you have little children in the house I do not see this surviving for very long. I would recommend one of those lamps you can attach to the wall. I like the look and the price. I just wish the button on the cord came out more.

Really pleased with this purchase. Perfect lamp for a dark corner, especially with obstacles in front of it. Didn't think a foot switch operated light would be appropriate when a couch blocks the bottom. The switch (dimmer) in the middle of the pole is perfect. Would buy again. BTW, very easy to put together.

It it made of lighter metal, but it works really well and gives us the light we need. The floor switch limits placement but we adjusted and like it where it's at.

Just assembled. Easy! Very well thought out and very well packaged. I hope it lasts as long as it should.2 things lacking re instructions:There are black plastic rings between sections of pole. Remove those.Lampshade does not need to be “pasted”. It has Velcro on the edge.Well designed, really good value if it lasts!!
