Avid Media Composer | First: Fundamentals of Video Editing

So I am trying to learn Avid to increase my skills and employability as a video editor.I bought this book to learn the free version of Avid Media Composer / First.I am only on page 31 and I am frustrated.1) Incorrect pointing to pictures that don't match the text.2) Continual references to colour in images when it is printed in black and white.3) NO PROCESSES - I have just got to a point on pg31 where it assumes that Bins and Folders have been created without telling a new learner how and IF you should create them because they are not already there. The book swears they should be there. Now I don't know if something has gone wrong or if I am to make the files and folders.4) Things they say you can achieve I cant. I have been trying to add the Source Browser to the Timeline window and I cannot do it even though the book says I can. I have restarted my computer and the software and I still cannot follow that instruction.This book is supposed to teach you through the processes but so far all I am doing is guessing what I should or shouldn't be doing. This isn't good enough. The book is vague and often misleading.
