My Go-To Energy Boost for Long Runs
These energy liquid gels have been a total game-changer for my long runs. They’re super easy to carry and digest, giving me a quick boost exactly when I need it without any stomach upset.I love the smooth texture—no weird aftertaste or grit like some gels have. The flavors are tasty enough that I actually look forward to taking them during tough miles. Plus, they absorb fast, so I feel the energy kick in quickly. They give me steady, reliable fuel so I can keep pushing without crashing or feeling sluggish. Whether I’m running 10 miles or hitting marathon training, these gels are always in my pack.If you need a dependable energy boost that works for endurance runs, these gels are definitely worth trying.

Good for sensitive stomachs
Works fast, and I personally feel like it lasts just as long as gels. Definitely goes down better than the gels too, even warm. The only flavors I wouldn’t buy again were the cola and the coffee —even cold I wanted to vomit after drinking these and the entire run afterwards. The orange is unexpectedly SO good! Tastes just like orange juice and very easy to take down during long runs/hard workouts.

Liquid is handy and easier to use on the bike than gel.
I ride a road bike and have been using Gu gels for several years. Biggest complaint is just using them. Gel is sort of thick and sweet and a little messy. Usually carry a little ziplock bag to put the empties in two they don't get my jersey pocket messy. The liquid gels are really easy to use, even when on the bike. The flavor is good (lemonade) and they are not particularly messy. I don't mind putting the empty in my pocket. Down side is that they are not as strong as the other gels... your not getting as much out of each package, and they are more expensive. Bit of a trade off, but, at least for me, it is worth it.

Can be difficult to get all of it out of the packet.
Considering that you likely will be drinking them warm, some of the flavors are a little intriguing. The warm cola flavor is OK, but just seems a bit odd, like cola left out on the counter overnight. The espresso flavor also is a bit of a surprise at ambient temperature. They are definitely liquid, and I guess they don't want the contents to squirt out when you tear it open, so even once it is open, you have to squeeze the packet to get it flowing and suck and squeeze the contents. Even doing that, I almost always had some left in the packet. To really empty out a packet, I would have to use both hands to fold the packet up from the bottom to squeeze everything out. Might be ok for running, but not on a bike ride when you don't want to stop.Still, the liquid-gel is easy to swallow and doesn't make you feel like you need to wash it down with water. Knocked off a star on easy-to-swallow because of the difficulty getting it out of the pack.Compared to the energy gels, you get a bigger hit of energy, and quicker, too, but it doesn't last as long. Also, since there is more volume (for the same amount of calories, sodium and amino acids) than the gels, you can't carry as many on long bike rides. So, I've switched back to the gels.May be good for runners and shorter rides, or a quick burst of energy at strategic points, like just before a hill climb.

Good for training
I am a long distance runner, and during my marathon training block, I love to use these. I actually used these during the NYC marathon. They are sweet, so I’d advise you drink a bit of water after. 100 percent recommend.

Liquidy energy gel you don't need to wash down with water
This is the only running gel I've ever used, so I don't have much to compare it to. However, from what I've read, the majority of running gels require you to take them with water and some can be rather gummy, which is exactly why I picked GU's Liquid Energy. The consistency is sort of a combo of Jello and melted lemonade ice pops, so it's very easy to consume. I like the flavor, although it is really quite sweet, but then it sort of has to be. Gave me a nice boost towards the end of my 20-mile training run. Didn't experience any stomach issues.

Suboptimal for cycling
I was surprised when I opened the box. They are much larger than normal GU energy gels. They take up more space in your cycling jersey pocket and weigh more, which could be annoying if you need to carry 3 or 4 for a long ride. Unlike a regular gel that you can squeeze into your mouth while riding, these are fussy; you need to stop and empty the pack with care if you want to get most of the product out and not make a mess. Taste and function is fine. I’ll use them until there’re gone, not carrying more than one on a ride, but won’t purchase again.
