I used to use only number 2 round pencils when working with wood projects but after learning how to sharpen these carpenter pencils I now use these all the time. Wonder why these aren't round, so that they don't roll off your work bench. I attached a video and some photos of how I sharpen these pencils. The picture in the description is misleading on how sharpened they look. I've never been able to get my carpenters pencils sharpened with a sharpener as the photos. It just didn't happen. However using a utility knife is the way to go but can be dangerous if you don't know how to use a knife. If you do then these will come in handy in all types of wood work and even writing. A side note, in my video I went too fast in sharpening with the utility knife but you should get the point. Also check out some other videos online.

Standard carpenter's pencils. 4 stars due to what seems to be better wood than most for the pencil casing. The graphite in the center seems to be fairly consistent and leaves good marks. Sharpening these is easier than other pencils I have used due to the wood and graphite being quality. One star knock because they are a little overpriced. I was willing to pay more for better quality and they delivered, but it isn't a wow product.

Well packaged, packaging intact, all pencils in great shape. I used a hoby knife to carve away some wood to make for easy sharpening. The wood peels nicely when sharpening. The core holds together nicely. The mark is clean, dark, and consistent. Will buy again.

I've been a carpenter for decades. Irwin pencils are the bomb. The wood isn't too hard to whittle, nor is it too soft (making it easy to break). The lead is the right hardness. These pencils hold up, but they are a bit spendy. Big Rudy

大工仕事で硬さHの0.9mmのシャーペンを使っているのですが、直線をすばやく書きたい時どうしても折れてしまっていました。 この鉛筆は芯が太いため、折れる心配がなく気にせずシャッと気持ちよく引けます。使っていくと0.9と同じような細い線も書けるのでパフォーマンスが高い商品です。シャーペンの相棒にオススメです。

Cumplen su funcion. No hay mas que decir, tan solo son lapices para el taller de carpintería u otros. Habia comprado de otra marca que traia su sacapuntas asi es que estos fueron de repuesto.
