Holder works as designed,!!BUT!!!! Seller has inferred a stick of chalk???? The stick of chalk is ( 1”) long !! Recommend just buying from other seller’s and buy stick chalk from another. That’s my two cents worth

Love this chalk holder, but the brand of chalks I have do not fit. My chalk pieces are too thin and are not gripped securely. It comes with one piece of chalk, which will last me quite some time. I’m assuming there are other brands of chalk out there that are the same and I’ll deal with it at that time.

This is a great product. The problem is, many chalk distributors claim their chalk is 3/8" when, in fact, it's nearly a centimeter smaller than that. This chalk holder holds a 3/8" stick as it claims, but anything smaller will just slide right out of it. So be sure your chalk is truly 3/8" thick (measure it yourself - don't just believe the box) before purchasing chalk to use with this item.The chalk I use at school is all too narrow to fit, even though it claims to be 3/8", so I'll need to go shopping if I want to use this item beyond the stick it came equipped with.That aside, the item itself works very well and seems durable! Please don't let the chalk dilemma deter you, as the chalk holder is a wonderful product. With well-fitted chalk, it holds the stick tightly, and prevents breaking as well as repeated contact with the chalk. My hands are very appreciative!

Low price, high quality. This is a great no thrills chalk holder.My wife is a teacher and I got it for her as a joke! But she loves it and uses it every day! She says that she has seen a drastic improvement in her hands not being so dry.As others have stated all chalk is not created equally! So far she has had good luck about pieces fitting it without issue but the other day she brought it home because a piece was jammed in it. Luckily I was able to get the jammed piece out and it still works fine.TIP: If you have a piece of chalk jammed into the holder. Take a very small flat head screw driver and carefully pry off the white dome top. Once it is removed you can insert a rod or dowel and push the chalk out (a pen will work in a pinch). Do this over the trash can! Then just push the dome cap back on.

This review will outline good and bad aspects to this item. First the good.It holds thin chalk very well and gives a bigger surface to grip. It’s comfortable to use and easy to change out one piece to another. Chalk doesn’t break mid-piece using the holder like it does in my hand. The design was well thought out. Overall I love the holder.Now the bad.This item is stated to come with chalk. It’s not traditional chalk. It’s more like an oil pastel. I spent about a hundred dollars and several hours painting and one wall in my kitchen with chalk board paint. I can’t get the “chalk” off without the paint coming with it. Use real chalk or don’t advertise it as coming with chalk.

Good product that helps for writing on the board without creating a mess. I have only had it a couple of weeks though and used it a handful of times and it’s already not holding the chalk still. When I write it pushes the chalk in unfortunately. I will have to make modifications by adding some epoxy or glue inside the tips of the chalk holder to hold it securely.

Have been teaching in college for many years and most of the places now have whiteboards, but this one lab still has a chalkboard. And especially, in upstate NY chalk dust just eats your skin. After suffering for many years, thought to give this product a try. instantly pleased. It is made up of Aluminum but still sturdy. Grip of chalk is good and I can now use the tiniest stub to their fullest potential. Certainly recommend to all my fellow nerds out there.
