These hydrocolloid bandages are protecting the fragile skin of a bedridden elderly relative. We’ve been using these for a few months, and —after resolving certain irritations — they’re keeping them from recurring.Very adhesive, so they tend to stay put much better than bandaids and surgical gauze. But we’ve learned to wipe or spray the 3M Cavilon product onto areas that will be under the adhesive margin surrounding the actual hydrocolloid area, before pressing the hydrocolloid bandage onto the skin. That’s because — while these bandages pull off very easily without leaving adhesive debris — the areas under the adhesive were developing secondary irritations while the center under the hydrocolloid part was actually healing.And definitely follow instructions on changing them every week, even if they look fine.

Very good bandage for slow healing wounds. Clear border keeps fluids from leaking out the sides or bottom while keeping wound and surrounding skin moist. A little pricey but well worth it because it can be worn longer.

Used on a large bedsore; it healed beautifully.
