Great hobby wire, not magnet wire, not toxic
This is great hobby wire. I tried it out as magnet wire and it didn't cut it. It does conduct electricity but it's not insulated with the invisible epoxy (or lacquer) coating of magnet wire. And in response to the reviewer who gave this a low rating with the irrelevant comment falsely accusing copper of being toxic:Copper is not a toxic substance. That false information wrongfully scares people and incites panic. It should be removed.Copper is one of the safest substances known to humankind. Copper is far less toxic than iron. And our ability to breathe air depends on iron. For crying out loud!People can safely handle copper all day everyday without any concern whatsoever. Sucking on pennies before 1982 was much safer when they were made of copper instead of zinc. Now, swallowing a penny is a medical emergency. When pennies were copper, you could just wait for the penny to be "passed". (By the way the problem is that zinc is dissolved too quickly by the hydrochloric acid in our stomachs. You want toxic! There is nothing as toxic as hydrochloric acid. And every healthy human is carrying around a container of it all day everyday. OSHA should fine the entire population!)There is no evidence whatsoever that copper is absorbed through the skin through ordinary handling of products such as copper wire. Where is this nonsense coming from? Copper is absolutely not toxic. Pine trees and sunshine are far, far more toxic than copper -- really.Contrary to being toxic, copper is an essential micronutrient required for human health. Every multi-vitamin pill contains copper. The effects of copper on human health, animal health and the environment are fully understood. Copper is one of the good guys. No warning necessary. There is no OSHA guideline for the general population on copper unlike say, zinc.Copper, like any element is only a problem in crazy, hyper excessive amounts that do not occur with people not in the businesses that mine, process, heat, cut, sand, polish, etc. copper. People who work in flour mills develop more respiratory ailments from breathing wheat dust than copper miners breathing copper dust.Everything in excess is "toxic". Everything exposed over a prolonged period in an unusual manner such as breathing in flour in a mill or the .001% UV radiation that gets through 100% UV-blocking cockpit glass on airliners and gives some pilots skin cancer after 30 years of exposure (it really happens) is a problem.Everything can cause some people to have allergies, cause certain reactions and certain syndromes. Some people are allergic to pure air and pure water. All of these things are at the fringes of the spectrum. It is no more justified going around telling people "copper is toxic, be careful" than it is to say "distilled water is toxic, be careful". Think I'm being facetious? Google the studies of distilled water causing cancer on the skin of lab rats.Turns out, if you irritate skin of any animal with pure water long enough you are going to cause cancer. So should we call distilled water carcinogenic? Please!Life is not risk free and never will be. Copper is as safe as any stuff gets.Get the copper wire, make your project and increase your lifespan a little which is what really happens when you inject endorphins into your bloodstream when you feel that sense of satisfaction from creating something -- a uniquely human adaptation that started sometime after emerging from the stone age into the BRONZE AGE (bronze is mostly copper).

works well as described.
works well for need. I take it camping for all sorts of reasons and comes in handy every time! Easily bendable and workable. good quality wire.

Good for using as hoops to hold up row cover in a garden
I bought this to use to make hoops to hold up my row cover on my garden beds. I didn't want to go the PVC route and wanted something that didn't take up much room when I store it and this fits the bill. I just tied the bunch together and hang it on the fence when not in use. I but two rolls of it and that was good because you use it up fast because it's thick. I think I got maybe a dozen hoops 3 ft high out of a roll, maybe a little more. That corresponds to probably each piece 8 or so feet long when you count the foot they're in the ground on each side. It's strong enough that I can stick it straight in the ground a foot and it will maintain its shape. A lighter gauge I'd probably have to put a metal or PVC tube of some kind in the ground and put the wire inside the tube. One caveat: given the thickness of this gauge I had to buy a special cutter for it. This cutter just barely does the job but for the amount I need to use it I wasn't going to pay more than $10 - $12 for a$30 cutter that would go through it like butter. Don't think you're going to cut this with tin snips or dikes because you aren't. I might have gone one gauge lighter and it would have been easier to cut but I'm not sure it would hold up the row cover as well as it does. I'm using a hoop about every 2 1/2 to 3 ft. I will buy it again.

The packaging makes the wire look shinier than it is.
I bought this to try some wire wrapping and other jewelry making. It is strong and still bendable. A little harder than I want, but still works well. My only complaint is that the plastic on the packaging makes this look a lot shinier than it is. After you work with it a bit it gets even duller. However, while isn’t good for jewelry it is fantastic for framing and supporting other things like sculptures, internal wiring for other wire projects I'm still getting excellent use out of it even of it isn't good for what I bought it for.

Cu Wire for irlb3034pbf
For all of you diy mod builders in the vaping world, this stuff is great. It fits fine in those little 510 connection holes for the positive connection on plenty of 510 connections which have them. It is also about the largest sized wire suitable for soldering a 15k resistor to a irbl3034pbf mosfet chip. It connects great to my favorite version of push-button switches. For this price, it is a great deal. The package is made into a wire clipper, handy for clipping off a foot of wire to solder to your projects needs. Of course, you may find it easier to clip off some wire with some pliers, however the metal that came on the package was still a nice surprise.Be sure to test the resistance of this wire for your needs before using it to make a mod. It was a good replacement for the 22 gauge magnet wire I was using from Radioshack, and far more convenient to obtain via Amazon. I usually drill-straighten it by the foot, run it over a torch, and then dip it in baking soda water. Then I use sand paper to clean off the residue. This process decreases the resistance and cleans away any unwanted coatings. Careful not to get it too hot as it can melt pretty easily.A clean and safe build is best, be sure to use a multi-meter when constructing a mod.All in all, I am thankful for this product and happy to get it; I was almost out of my magnet wire and, alas, I did not know what I was going to do. Now, if I wire up a circuit which needs some pretty heavy duty Cu wire, I can use this stuff. I'll definitely order more of it if I run out.Remember to exercise safety precautions; have a nice day.

This is coated single strand.
I should have read the listing better. I was actually looking for 100 feet of stranded clothesline coated cable. Well I guess I will give it a try. Right off of the bat I can see it does not flex as easy as the stranded cable.
