This stuff is amazing!
I filled a Lowes 5 gallon bucket, added about half cup of EOS dishwashing liquid to that water and poured it into a clear plastic bin from Walmart with the brick of Coco coir in that tub. You'll need a big plastic bin with a lid. I let it set for approximately 15 minutes, then added another 2.5 gallons of water (half the Lowes bucket) then started mixing until it all absorbed and I could put some coir in my hand, squeeze and I got a drip or two of water. So wet, but not MUD! Then I added a bag of miracle grow perlite, a 1.5 square ft bag of miracles grow potting soil. Mixed. I had enough to soil to fill 4 big porch planters, and for all my big pots, basically a tub of awesome soil to do me all summer and I still have some left over. I'll be buying one of these every Spring instead of buying BAG AFTER BAG AFTER BAG of potting soil and lugging it home everytime I run out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MEDIUM. I added the dishwashing lighid as a surfactant to prevent the soil from getting "cakey". It keeps the soil nice and absorbent vs having soil that gets hard and when watered the water just rolls off the top.

Amazing soil
This is the first time using this soil. It is very light weight. I planted some strawberries in it. Within two weeks the plants are striving where it have blossoms and bringing out strawberries. Will recommend to my friends.

I purchase this once per year for my seed starting needs.
The Wonder Soil brick is a great purchase if you are an avid Gardner and start your seed indoors or in a greenhouse. The brick expands to gives you more than enough to start well over 200, three inch pots of seed starting bliss. The coconut coir does not grow mold and will keep your seedlings healthy until they are ready to be planted outdoors.

Coconut Coir is Great BUT BEWARE: *CAUTION* ***THESE BRICKS ARE INFESTED WITH SPIDER MITES!!***
I think most avid gardeners would agree that Coconut Coir is one of the best soil additives/substitutes that has become a part of the picture in recent memory. It turns clay based soils into workable loam. It works great for water retention and is a wonder with root vegetables. This year, we have ordered over 50 5kg bricks. Most of them have come from this company and EVERY SINGLE BRICK THAT WE HAVE REHYDRATED HAS BEEN INFESTED WITH WITH SPIDER MITES. We first discovered them the morning after we added another raised bed to our garden. Overnight, they had destroyed close to 25% of the plants in an 2.5' x 9.5' raised bed. At first, we thought that they had been brought in on plants that we had recently introduced to our garden. We immediately treated them with Captain Jack's and a Rosemary Oil solution that we have had great success with. The mites were gone in short order. That was until we rehydrated another 7 bricks of Coir. We used the new batch mixed with compost to add hilling soil to our potatoes. By the next morning, Spider Mites had destroyed a good bit of our potatoes. We could see Spider Mites all in the soil with a magnifying glass. We treated again and, once again eliminated them. By now, it was becoming very obvious as to where the Spider Mites were coming from, but we wanted to be sure, so we rehydrated one more brick. We placed the Coir in with a plant that we didn't mind losing and put it in our front yard, away from all of our other vegetables. By the following afternoon, the plant was completely destroyed. Since the last incident, we are treating all of the Coir that originated from this vendor with Captain Jack's Dead Bug and Rosemary Oil solution before we add it to anything. Unless you want to lose most or all of your garden, I would suggest that you do the same. Our orders were placed at different times, many weeks apart, so the "batch" excuse doesn't apply. We have since ordered Mother Earth brand Coir at about half the price as "Wonder Soil" and the bricks produce SIGNIFCANTLY MORE REHYDRATED COIR. About 5 Gallons more than Wonder Soil does. They even feel much heavier and are darker in texture as well, but the BEST PART is that there are NO SPIDER MITES in the Mother Earth Coir. I would not say "Do not buy these", but I will say, that if you do, be fully prepared to treat this Coir before use with a PROVEN Spider Mite killer or you will be really pissed off 24 hours after you use this stuff. Fantastic stuff
First, this brick makes a ton! I bought a huge plastic bin to mix it in, and still ran out of room. So easy to use. My potted hibiscuses LOVE this. Drains beautifully but really retains moisture, so if you want to use it with plants that need to dry out more quickly between waterings, you'll want to add pumice or perlite. I use this for all my potted plants, indoors and out. For my succulents, I do a fifty-fifty mix of this with pumice. It's worth paying the shipping for this because the product is terrific and you get a lot for your money.

Excellent Stuff. Ten Stars !
Better than plain coco. This stuff produces. And ZERO fungus gnats. It's nice having this pressed block on hand. Stores great long-term, but is ready upon re-hydrating. I just break off a chunk as needed and stick it in warm water. It's ready in minutes. I'm never going back to soil.
