Drum Seat Throne, 13” Round Vinyl Seat, Adjustable Height, Cushioned Top with Memory Lock, Single-Braced Collapsible Tripod for Portability (5608)

As a beginner I went for the cheapest seat, but the $20 difference is not worth the pain. Those wobbly little noname thrones are hard and weak, so I decided to try a name brand, even if it's a little more. I'm so happy I did! It's much wider and is really comfortable. On the one I returned half of my bottom was in the air... This one has a generous diameter of 13.25" and is almost 3" thick. The cushion is soft, the legs are stable. My only complaint is that it had no instructions inside and no key to unlock the memory lock ring, which seems to require a standard drum key. Amazon gave me a discount to purchase that part, but probably any music store has them under $5. Since it's new, I can't say anything about durability, but it seems to be well made.

I bought this chair for my husband for christmas. We play a ton of rock band and he plays drums on the ion drum rocker. For a long time we had been using a wooden stool with a seat cover for him to sit on, which was never quite right. There were so many drum seats that it was hard to pick this one, especially because there were no reviews of it yet. I decided on this one because it stated the heights that you could adjust it to. There are not preset heights, you are free to set it any height between 18 and 24 inches. He has the seat set very high (he says it helps to be high to be able to hit all the base notes.) It is very sturdy and the foam seat top is quite comfortable. Also, the seat top swivels, which allows him to turn easier to hit different drum heads. He is about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds.

Overall the seat is comfortable and stable. The pictures and text describing the seat conflict: 23” high as described in text and 33” high in the picture. So you know, maximum safe height is 23”. It won’t go any higher. Also, the “adjustment key” to tighten the compression lock on the shaft to prevent the seat from settling into the stand was missing on two shipments. Amazon made good by reducing the price for the missing key. Overall the five star rating was reduced to four stars because of the missing adjustment key otherwise I would give it a five star rating.

I tried a cheaper product and it was hard as a rock and wobbly. I decided to go with a trusted brand and this does not disappoint! The seat lowers enough for my shorter legs and the cushion is very comfortable. Also very sturdy! Highly recommend.

Worked alright for a year and now it has massive wobble. Spend a little more and get something way better.

Don't cheap out on your drum throne. This one is well worth the extra 20 bucks. Great quality and very comfortable.

Very nice, sturdy an lightweight throne. The memory lock stays nice and tight.I actually use this throne for my larger SOFTY Gibraltar throne and its brilliant!Cheers then!JG

I didn't want to spend a lot since I don't play much anymore and grand children will be messing with it. I am surprised how strong it is considering it is not double braced. I am 190 lbs and it holds me easily. Also the ht adjustments go low (enough for kids 5 years old) and high enough for I believe anyone.

Super nice drum throne. I use it as my office chair and drum throne at the same time - and it's comfortable even if you sit the entire day.

I got this to lighten my hardware bag.I only wanted the base as I use a Porter & Davies tactile monitor seat which is pretty heavy. It’s light in weight but a solid base!

Good value for money overall. The throne is basic, stable & convenient. Durability will be tested only after a few months of usage. Chair sometimes sleeps down when you sit on it & needs to be tightened quite hard to prevent that. But it's doing the job.
