ScalaWomen's Medium Brim Cotton Hat

I like the hat. I ordered the medium brim ,and at first I was afraid it would not be enough sun coverage, I was wrong, it's perfect for me. I have a smaller head, so it is a little big, but I can make it tighter with the adjustment string inside. The large brim would have been much to wide for me. I took off 1 star because the dessert is not at all like the picture. I wanted a neutral and there were too many choices between dessert, natural, linen and taupe. I asked the company to describe the differences and I was told dessert had some grey in it. Wrong! Dessert actually has more yellow tan in it. I would describe it like the color of the dessert. It has no grey at all. It was too "yellow" tan for me. The natural is a very light beige. I haven't received the linen yet, but was told that is the lightest of them all. I decided to go with the taupe. For me it's the perfect neutral without the "yellow" tone of the dessert color. I took a picture to help show the differences in the neutrals. left to right is natural, taupe and dessert on the right. The photo alone is dessert. It does not look anything at all like the stock photo. I didn't get the linen but it is lighter than the natural, which is pretty light also. I Hope this will help someone else with the neutrals.

Loved the size of the brim of this hat. Not too small as my face is not tiny, but not too large as I am not very tall. The scale of this hat is good for me. The brim is shapeable and protected my face well. It also didn't give me too much of a hat head either, although my hair is very short. Loved the turquoise color. Very happy with this hat and would purchase again.Inside the brim is a soft roping that makes the hat adjustable to your head. It is not elastic. Very happy and will come back to buy another color and it is suitable for the beach or a day of walking around. I have a straw Scala hat that I bought 15 years ago and it is still great. Scala makes a great product.

I have this hat in 6 colors. I always buy the Medium Brim. One time I got the Wide Brim, about 1” wider, and there is a difference.I like the look and wear of this hat.It can be packed in your suitcase and when you take it out it still looks good. It’s a very comfortable hat. There are cords around on the inside that you can pull to make the inside tighter. I leave mine hanging out in the back.It can be washed. You’ll have to wash it sometime because the inside brim will accumulate makeup from your forehead. I washed the white one, as you can see in my picture, it got a little smaller and the material is not as stiff. I ironed it around the brim and the upturned lip.I had more and I think some of the colors fade.

Now I'm going to buy it in colors; there's a great selection of colors. Maybe I'll even go with the olive and pretend I'm Vera.I'm different from the women who left negative reviews because I like that it's wrinkly. That means I have felt free to roll it up and put it in my purse or backpack, not something I would do with a perfect unwrinkled hat.

I love this hat. I held off from buying it for a while simply because of the price. I don't get to wear the hat much because I hardly ever go anywhere but I have gotten a couple of compliments on it.It's really light weight, fits nicely and I like to wear it with the brim turned up.I think you will like it.

I have tried on so many hats over the years - and found this one to be the best! I love the style and it protects my skin from the sun. As a redhead, I need to wear hats and this one is super comfortable .and frankly the color goes with everything.

I have an average sized head & this hat is a little too large on me. I will definitely have to use the internal band strings (which are surprisingly huge - like ropes). I like that the hat sits way down on my head (less likely to blow off) & the medium brim seems like it will provide great sun protection. This hat 'almost' impedes my vision - I have to turn the front part of the brim upwards so that it stays out of my eyes/ field of vision. All in all, I think it's a great hat for the money. I bought black, mostly to wear in winter while walking my dog, to protect my face from the sun.

I have had this hat before but purchased it in a brick and mortar store. My first on-line order was a fail, as I mistakenly got a large brim version of the hat, which feels like a sombrero. The on-line retailers don't make it clear enough in the listings, in my opinion. The medium brim is just right for activities like golf. If you want to go to the beach, well then the large brim may work fine. The downside is that they don't wash up that well, and will shrink if you put them in the dryer.

I have a big head, so often have trouble finding a hat that not only fits, but also looks good, so ordering a hat on-line was a big step for me. I am familiar with this style of hat....Scala has a good name in the hat industry. I have been looking for this hat for over a year so when I found one on Amazon.ca, I was ecstatic. And the price was very good. The quality of the hat is lovely...100% cotton, so it will be cool as well as comfortable. I can highly recommend this hat....I got the medium brim.

This hat is not made to fit women's heads. It also shrinks when you wash it but not on top where women need it to but on the circumference. Since it did not fit my wife or daughter I kept it for gardening because the seller does not reimburse the shipping you pay to receive it or the shipping cost to send it back. In my case the shipping costs were more than the hat, otherwise I would have returned it. Every time I wash it I have to remember to stretch the circumference and not put in the dryer.

Ordered this on May 13 and received it today (May 16) with free shipping! I absolutely love it!! It's everything I wanted in a hat to wear walking/hiking and although I was hesitant about the colour I ordered (chino but closer to khaki) I am glad I chose it because it will be suitable for year round wear (was thinking of the linen or natural). Fits well, is SPF 50, and has a drawstring to adjust the diameter of the crown which was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended.
