Truper Post Hole Diggr STL 48

These PHDs have what it takes to dig through hard ground. My yard usually has to be dug a little at a time. Dig a little add water, let soak, dig a little add water let soak. These post hole diggers are very heavy, sharp and well made. The extra weight makes cutting through the hard, compacted soil so much easier. They are heavy so not for a small, weak person. If you are big and robust these things work great. Made short work of the holes I needed. Handle cushions are comfortable on the hands.

Very solidly made. It’s hefty, so there’s definitely some extra weight. If you protect your back, this is very easy to use.

This post hole digger is heavy duty and sturdy. Picks up more dirt than the cheaper kind of hole diggers. The ruler on the side of the digger is cool because you have an idea how deep you've gone without using a tape measurer. The only downside was the shipping. Even though it was sold and shipped by Amazon, it was a day late in delivery so took a total of 4 days from when I first ordered it. When I got the package, the box was a little beat up and had clear shipping tape all around it like it was a returned item. Package originated from New York, then got shipped to Amazon in Colorado, then got shipped to my location. Why did they have to go through a distribution center that far away to mail my hole digger? Amazon should have done a better job packaging it and take responsiblity for giving more accurate delivery dates.

This is an all steel post hole digger, very sturdy and well made and should last a lifetime. Good value for money.

Helps when soil is dry

A little heavier then normal, but they bury themselves deeper. I don't have to grab the axe bar quite as much. I have yet to use them in really bad soil, but they've gotten through so tough stuff already that a fiberglass or wood handled digger wouldn't have. I've had to take them back a few times from the new guy who seems to like them. I've pried and beat on these more then I would with wood or fiberglass handles, and have not bent the handle or blades yet. I will say that these could seriously hurt you if you don't know how to let the tool do its job. These like all digger handles can spring back on you if your hand slips while trying to hard. Atleast the wood and fiberglass ones will break. These so far won't, and I had to teach the new guy not to try so hard. If you can pull out a full or partial digger. Stop trying. Pick up the post hole digger rotate 90⁰ and send it back down. Let the tool break it up. Instead of trying to muscle it out. I've seen handles break wrists and knock out teeth. I can see these handles doing a number on someone who works harder then smarter, since they won't or haven't snapped when overly abusing them. If these survive the year I'll be buying several more. I used to get my digger at Ace, but they haven't carried the ones I've used for year, and others on my crew used for decades. Over the past 4 or 5 years we've tried pretty much everything sold in the store at Lowe's, Menards, HD, tractor supply, Ace, big R, and I'm sure there's more. I hope I can stop wasting my money on garbage now that I found these.
