Donckels Cocoa Dusted Chocolate Truffles - 1 LB Box (4-Pack)

These are amazing! They melt in your mouth. The only suggestion I would make is to keep them in a place you can seal them. They don't come in a resealable bag. They dry out too fast if you leave them in the container. They are rich in flavor and almost remind me of Frango mints, except for the mint flavor. The chocolate is so smooth. Trust me after you try them you will want to give them as a gift. I tried some my sister in law got as a gift and immediately had to find them here.

Donchels Cocoa Dusted Belgian Chocolate Truffles is really a superb candy. In my experience they have only been bested by fresh chocolates, ones that have been prepared that very same day, (e.g., in NYC, a store called Li-Lac, cooks their deserts that very same day and when they run out of them, they run out. They don't try to fake it by using yesterday's product.But barring those unusual offerings. Donchels is at the top of my list (for truffles). The outer candy is firm, but not not crunchy, and the inner chocolate cream was soft, sweet, and simply melted in my mouth.I did not experience the gastrointestinal "issues" that some of the other reviewers here speak of because I limited myself to 3 of the truffles spread out through the day (the last being at bedtime). That way I was always looking forward to something a bit later (and it took much will to avoid "cheating"), Certainly during the winter months, shipping should not be a problem (not so for late spring through late fall...these puppies tend to melt unless they are taken very good care of until delivery...I can't speak to that since I've always ordered them in cool/cold environments). My advice: give them a try during the winter.

I have bought these many years ago and again this year. I gave them as a gift and ate 3 entire pounds! These are what fancy truffles taste like. These are in a gold foil package but should be in more gift-able packaging considering how delectable they are. They are rich and solid chocolate dusted in cocoa powder. They literally melt in your mouth and are delicious. They are perfect for pairing with red wine or coffee. The price on these is ridiculously reasonable when these truffles are in a class of their own. They are perfect to serve to guests. Also, they don't have a bunch of fillers and preservatives.

Same great taste as previously purchased truffles, hence the five star rating. BUT I ordered and received them during October (hoped for cooler weather) intending to give two of the three packages as gifts. Items arrived quickly, but when I opened all three, I saw that the chocolates in each bag had fused together into brown masses similar to some abstract art sculpture. Rather than giving two as gifts, my wife and I will be forced to eat all three over the next several weeks slicing off a gob here and there. Although this is a very delicious prospect, our intended recipients who are familiar with these truffles were extremely disappointed. Next time, I'll try to find them in a conventional retail outlet to avoid meltdown during transit.

OK this was rediculous!!! I got this Belgian truffles and some Frensh ones also. The french truffles were ok and Delisiouse. I finaly get to these ones and to my supprise, IT IS A SOLID BRICK!! This sucker has been melted, at the distriputers place. I had these things in my bedroom on the floor and there is no way it could have melted in my posestion. B/c it is in a box I had no way of knowing what was up inside. I contacted the dealer and told him what was going on and That was over 7 months ago. Im a little ticked off that I have waisted so much money and got ripped off. Ill have to see .

I loved the taste of them. I don't really like American chocolate all that much. I enjoy Cadbury's, Milka, Kinder and others from Europe. These are nothing like American chocolates I tasted (Probably because they're Belgian) and they have a VERY rich taste. Sadly someone put them in their car on a hot day, left them there for hours and I received a mushy liquid. I refrigerated it and it formed together as one giant piece. The melting did not make it taste bad and it was hard to eat all at once because of how rich it is. If you like that sorta thing, I recommend.

Ordered a bag in early spring and everything was delivered intact. However, ordering this two different times in October resulted in both bags arriving as a melted block of chocolate... apparently this has happened to more than one reviewer here! Obviously whichever warehouse these originate from has a whole boxes of these that were exposed to heat at some point. The chocolates themselves are delicious and would get 5 stars, but 2 out of 3 disappointments knock my rating down to 3.

I bought these for Christmas for my friends who are chocolate lovers. Being a chocolate lover as well, I purchased a box for myself. I finished the entire box in 1 month, although I promised and tried not to eat them all at once. They're delicious!The boxes came quickly, there were no problems with them, the chocolates were perfect inside the boxes.After giving these a go, I'll never go back to fake chocolate boxed truffles again! I received a box sampler from another brand and compared to these, they tasted like plastic and sugar.This is the real deal, they have a nice chocolate fudge texture and just melt in your mouth.I definitely recommend!
