This is a great educational book for learning about the low country and it has the prettiest illustrations

I have the original edition of this book, and I love the colorful illustrations that were added to this newer edition. Anyone who is traveling to the Lowcountry and its beaches needs this book for nature finds and learning about the flora and fauna of the area. This book has been invaluable in discovering what our "tideland treasures" are. Identifying various species of gulls and other shore birds, flowers, shells, etc. is so much more fun. I highly recommend this book.

We moved to the coast two years ago. Wanted to learn about the ecosystem here. This book was suggested to us by an eco-tour guide in our area. I love it. It answers every question I have when we're on nature walks or on the beaches & marshes here. It resides in my car so it goes everywhere with us. It answers all of our " I wonder what that is" or "I wonder why the land is eroding there" or the ten million other questions we always seem to have.The illustrations help to solidify the information for me. Well done.Grateful to have this as a resource to learn about an area that will hopefully be our home for a very long time

This book is a definite have to have if you want a good, all around guide to the seacoast. Easy to read as well as a wealth of information, it doesn't hurt that it is incredibly beautiful to look at. Definitely a keeper and highly recommended. Thank you.

I hate coffee table books, but this is the first one we're kept out. We're constantly flipping it open to either learn what we just saw/heard or increase our knowledge base before we head out. Worth every penny.

Informative but the font makes it hard to sit down and read for any extended period.
