Ive never had these. Could someone describe them for me? Are they mushy?

These are very good in Stews and mixed in your rice. They are a bit hard but soft. Try them with rice and mix them. I like to mix them with my meat sauce and rice so as to get more flavor. They will not get mushy even in your stew. They do have a LOT of cal.'s so use them sparingly. Also try the GOYA Black Beans. I think you might like them as well.

Can they be eaten out of the can?

Yes. They are cooked green gandules. I use them to prepare Arroz con Gandules.

Are these peas slightly hard? At least compared to how regular canned green peas which are mushy?

They are mushy like green peas. They have smoking taste after the cook.

Worth the price

I am from Puerto Rican descent and gandules are one of the most popular beans we cook. Buying it by the case was a smart thing for me to do. It's a cheaper dollar amount per can. They're not always available in my area and when I do find them, the price is outrageous! Would recommend buying it by the case.
