Following Directions (Grades 3-6 + SPED): Six-Minute Thinking Skills

This book is a great tool to increase students ability to follow directions without having to repeat directions. The book starts off with easy tasks and gradually get harder as the book continues.

I really wanted to like this book, but it could have been so much better. My 1st grader zoomed through these exercises, even the harder ones, within minutes. The other thing that I did not like about this book besides the lack of difficulty was also the lack of variety. For the harder questions later in the book for example, the author kept the same number sets from the easy questions, repeating them and just changing around what to multiply by. It was the same boring example after boring example without switching around the concept or challenging a child's critical thinking/following of directions skill set. There are much better books out there...pass on this one.

Great idea book for many different kinds of problem solving. Most take less than 10 minutes but can be expanded easily for longer activities.

This book is great and has definitely been helping my kido pay more attention to detail and direction.

So many great ideas in this book. Great for teachers and parents. A variety of activities are explained in this book.

Good practical activities which is what teachers are looking for! Have read many books full of theories/ideas which dont offer practical ideas for the classroom. One star off because some activities are very basic.Will be a useful book to own in my learning support role.

I really liked the graduated difficulty structure of the questions.

My students love this activity and it’s fast great thing for all kids.
