Primus Ignition Steel Lighter

Me and my wife go camping, backpacking, and motorcycle camping.I always bring a flint-steel with me as a just in case. this one has a large flint rod it is easy to hold and the steel has a large grip making it easy to get a large amount of sparks perfect for making a fire when you’re in a pinch. they are bound to gather with par cord and it is long enough to use without removing it.

Bought this at MEC. Works well, same as pretty well any other of these things. Nice that it has the tool to strike with so you don't have to screw up your knife.

Absolutely terrible. Compared to my unbranded flint steel lighter, the Primus steel lighter is harder to get a spark. The striker is equally horrible as well. Now I did an experiment to test the case against my Chinese made steel lighter that I bought for something like 6$ from an outdoor shop.Unbranded Striker + Unbranded Flint = Fireworks like it's Christmas. You sometimes get sizable embers that remain lit for 1 - 2 seconds if you do a firm and strong strike.Primus Striker + Primus Flint = You get a set of sparks for every 3 strikes if you are lucky. The sparks are tiny and gone in a flash of a secondPrimus Striker + Unbranded Flint = Good amount of sparks, but not as good as the all unbranded combination.Unbranded Striker + Primus Flint = You get sparks on every strike, though not as big and are gone in a flash.I bought the Primus steel lighter because I am fan of their products. I have the Omnilite TI stove and their pot systems - excellent stuff. But am I extremely disappointed with this one.If you are lighting a stove, the Primus Steel Lighter is probably more than enough to ignite a flame. It's lightweight, and has a very comfortable grip feel to it. I am hesitant to recommend this if you are trying to light tinders/cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly in a back country.

DAS kauft man nur für sich selbst. Ich habe es schon oft verwendet. Es funktionierte immer.Natürlich brauchen die Funken dann auch "Futter" - - - klar.Und die Farbe ist gut, wenn es mal ins Gras fällt.

Produkt liegt gut in der Hand. Der Gummi, mit dem die Teile verbunden sind ist allerdings etwas zu kurz. So muss man den Gummi dehnen oder die Schließe öffnen. Macht große Funken die weit fliegen, Funktion tadellos. Tipp: Wenn der Teil zum Anreissen verschlissen sein sollte, empehle ich als Ersatz einen kurzen Teil eines alten Eisensägeblattes.

Top Feuerstahl. Super Funkenflug. Zündet Maya-sticks und anderen Zunder direkt. Den Preis ist es wert gegenüber vielen billigdingern, die ich schon in den Händen hatte.

Der Feuerstahl bewährt sich in der Praxis. Allerdings kann ich im Ergebnis keinen Vorteil gegenüber der noch billigeren Konkurrenz aus China feststellen. Daher bleibt der höhere Preis für mich ungerechtfertigt. Auch nicht, wenn der Artikel einen Striker und einen Griff hat...
