I have a yard that is overrun by falling sweet gum balls 3 seasons out of the year. This tool has helped me turn the tide of sweet gum balls on the ground in my favor! Notable features that other similar products lack is lightweight aluminum handle and stainless steel (others have carbon steel) cage. It’s a tough tool. I do wish the handle was a little longer. The sliding handle can also loosen with use but can be quickly re-tightened. I also have the stab-a-nut tool in green and it does a decent job but it is a delicate tool and cannot take as much abuse and is pricier (though it is more satisfying to use, American-made and a little easier on the back). I recommend good quality leather gloves when using this tool since you can get calluses from the regular spreading of the tines of the cage to empty out the contents. It is also superior to the stab-a-nut at getting to those half-buried sweet gum balls lodged more firmly in the ground. If I only had the budget for one of the two versus the stab-a-nut, I would recommend the Gymax. The tines on the Gymax do get out of alignment on occasion, but easy to restore to the correct position and/or reshape.

Love it! It picks up our big red oak acorns and most caps QUICKLY, no problem. My neighbor got one, too. We both got the medium size basket, and we really enjoy using them.

We have a house on the lake that has a Hickory tree. In the fall we get hundreds of nuts. Made it slippery when mowing over the nuts or even walking on them to get to the lake. My daughter told me about this and we purchased one. Took it to the lake a few weeks ago. There are not a lot of nuts down at the moment, but what nuts we had, it worked perfectly to gather without bending over. Can't wait til fall to go walking and collect nuts off our yard.

Bought this for picking up hickory nuts. As long as the nut is in one piece it works but if they are broken it doesn't work to well. I amback to using a rake.

I received one of these from my youngest daughter to pick-up gum balls. We have four mature sweetgum trees that are very heavy gumball producers. We would spend hours every fall raking them. This device makes the job a lot easier and much faster. We like it so much we got one for one of our granddaughters.

I was very impressed with the quality of this nut gatherer. It is sturdy and of good quality and lives up to the lightweight moniker as well. We've already used it to good effect for pecans and will heartily recommend it to others in our neighborhood as well.

This is a fantastic nut gatherer. I have tons of crabapples and immature peaches and plums every fall. This makes picking them up so much easier!
