Tricky to work with, but once applied, stuff works great!

This stuff is great, but as other folks have mentioned, they have trouble using the can of dip more than once. The can comes completely sealed along with a plastic lid that can be snapped on once the can is open. Its sort of like a can of tennis balls. You pop off the plastic lid and then pull back on a ring to open the can for the first time. Then (theoretically) you can use the plastic lid to help keep the contents fresh (unsolidified) for later use as well. Many folks mentioned that the top doesn't fit tightly. Well, it actually does when you attach it after opening the can for the first time. The problem is that the chemical compounds in the dip (fumes) actually attack the plastic material in the top and cause it to expand quite dramatically. I noticed this because I read these reviews and when I first attached the top, I ran some electrical tape around the edge as an extra seal. I was quite amazed the next day to be actually able to wiggle the top back and forth (even with the electrical tape seal) after it had been exposed to the fumes. So I cleaned out a glass jar and transferred the contents to that and now I have a nice twist off metal lid to protects the dip... Pickle jar, Salsa Jar, etc... This is either the most ingenious and diabolical choice of materials to virtually guarantee that you'll only get one use of the contents (and then be forced to buy more), or its a complete FAIL in packaging. (Personally, I think its the latter). Try it yourself - you'll be amazed at how much the lid expands when exposed to the vapors in the can. Great product, lousy packaging (with an easy fix)...

First of all I'd like to mention that when you are done,, place a couple layers of aluminum foil over the opening and then press on the plastic lid. Doing this will preserve the contents very well. Ad far as thickness per coat... it wasn't as much as I was expecting. So ì did 3 coats. This stuff does what it claims n does it decently well

Product works as advertised. And yes, this is a dip can (Amazon finally corrected that and yet still has the wrong pic of the product) in 14.5 oz vs the Aerosol spray in 11 oz. Amazon actually bungled my order but in a different way. I ordered these in Red and Balck 6 pk and they sent me the right product for the red but I got 11 oz spray cans in Camouflage ( a color or the can I did not order). They were quick to fix their mistake and sent me the right product and I got to keep the camouflage spray 6 pack (which I have very little use for) because of the hazardous material shipping back policy. Overall they fixed the problem. This is a product review and I see a bunch of reviews griping about the spray can vs dip can and giving a poor rating for the product. Reviews like that which unfortunately are found all over Amazon does not help anyone. Review the product by Performix and not how Amazon screwed up on the product description. It seems totally unfair and stupid to give a 3 star review for a 5 star product because Amazon got the description wrong.. Once again, I reiterate...this is a great product if you know what you are getting and what is in the 14.5 oz dip can. The picture Amazon has on there is still incorrect as that is the picture of the 11 oz spray can. Do some product research and see how the 14.5 oz dip can looks like on another website ( Home Depot and Lowes carry this product). The price on Amazon was the best and I knew what I would be getting and got exactly that despite one minor hiccup that was promptly fixed by Amazon.

Fantastic product. Recently bought a used, Craftsman riding mower and the rubber coated seat was cracked in two places. It was easy to use as it comes in a tennis ball like can with plastic lid. I was able to slowly pour Plasti-Dip into the foam crack and apply pressure to the seat and layer each coat with a foam brush. I kept the 1" foam brush in a wet paper towel and applied coat after coat, letting dry for 30 mins a coat. It dries quickly. The stuff worked great and I can't wait to use the other half of the bottle on other uses.

I used this product to repair a large rip in Lawn Tractor seat, as seen on YouTube DIY video. It worked great and has held up very well during this summer mowing season without any issues. I am very pleased with the product as I have use it.

Covered good , used to recoat a metal knob that black coating had worn off of.

Plastic Dip Intl. 11603-6 Plasti-Dip I ordered two cans of Plastic Dip, one red and one yellow, from AF Lock and Hardware in Brooklyn NY. I received one red and one black. The products were immediately shipped out and received within a week. I already had a can of Plastic Dip, black, that I purchased locally; it works great, so good that I ordered two more colors. Now here's the rub. There is virtually no way to determine what color you are ordering, save for a few which are listed. When I called to enquire how to order a can of yellow the guy at customer service did look up the stock number for me. When I tried to order a can, he told me to order it on-line, even though one of the options when I called the company was 'sales'. He offered no apology for my troubles, no offer to exchange the miss-sent can, and no offer of free postage for the newly ordered can. I can only hope that the can that I ordered was the correct color; oh and to make matters worse, the stock number that he gave me did not correlate with any of the numbers shown on Amazon. My advice is to look locally for your Plastic Dip. Unfortunately the only color that my local Lowes store carried was black.
