Works perfectly for lateral support especially
I have been searching for the perfect brace to support my ankle now since I’ve started walking in regular shoes about a month ago, 3 months following my ankle surgery. My ankle surgery kind of failed and I don’t blame anyone for it, as I have a known condition, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which causes a lot of surgeries not to have the best outcomes. But I deal with that however I can and in this case finding an ankle brace to support my needs is the best way to do so. This brace is fabulous, as long you buy the correct size. I had previously bought the same brace for my right side and the only size available at the time was an extra large, which is still way too big (it’s actually even bigger than it was when I received it because weight loss affects every body part). It definitely doesn’t work as intended unless you have the correct size. But that’s easy enough to choose. I am able to use the brace with or without shoes and it prevents the tendons on the outside of my ankle from popping out of place, which is the main problem I have had since my surgery. This brace works better for me than the custom made Richie style brace I have, which only works if you are wearing shoes with it. I need something that works when I’m too lazy to wear shoes or just want to walk around barefoot. And this is the overall winner thus far. I try out a lot of braces before settling on something normally, so that’s saying a lot. This brace is bulkier than my custom made brace, but it’s also far more comfortable against my sensitive fibula, which I believe has an anchor in it from my surgery.Aircast always seems to be the best solution for my bracing needs, whatever body part requires it.

This "aircast" is fabulous!
I ordered this Aircast for a possible broken ankle/ foot. Turns out it was a bad sprain 5 weeks later I still have a lot of bruising. Got the Aircast the next day. It took two weeks to get into the doctor for x-rays. He put me in a humongous boot to help with my mobility. I couldn't walk in the darn thing. Caught myself falling three times. Wore it one day. That was it.Back to the Aircast! It's been a real blessing. It affords my foot and ankle ample protection and very good support. I can wear it all day comfortably over a sock. And it fits in my shoe. I've been wearing it over 5 weeks now and it looks as good as the day I received it. I would buy it again should the other ankle, or foot have a problem. It's allowed me to stay mobile.

Foot support
Velcro will wear a little, but the device works very well!

Would have hated to have missed this! It’s a winner!
So after I rolled my ankle and fractured my ankle in 3 places and my fibula … I was given a boot from the emergency room to wear but it wasn’t comfortable at all and when I was able to do a little bit more I had a little softer one than this one to help with pain relief at the ankle while healing but this is the go to one for me now and I really don’t know what I would’ve done without this. It’s wonderful and I ordered it a size up from the normal size I wear in case of the swelling to allow for room and compression is also on the heel and ankle (slightly) but this is by far the best option for me as being uncomfortable with a broken bone in the first place and first time:( but I would definitely recommend this one to help with pain, recovery, and not to lose ROM. Great for running in etc if you’re prone to injury or ankles rolling.

Great support
My daughter had one of these that was supplied by her physical therapist when she badly sprained her ankle. Dur to torn ligaments, she wears this on a regular basis so the last one started to shred at the heel and we needed to replace it. This one was exactly like her last one and works as well as that one did. It is a little stiff at first but after a few uses, it "softened" up and is easier to get on now like her last one. It gives her great support and keeps her ankle from "giving out". I have tried others but they just did not fit right and did not give the support this one does. Highly recommend this.

Way too small
I ordered a small as u wear a 5.5 shoe but the small was smaller than what u woukd expect an extra small to be. It would fit a child.
