Fun toy
Baby absolutely loves it! Very well made, the wagging tail is absolutely adorable. Very interactive as well. And we have dogs 😅

Warning, may cause delightful, squeel-inducing play for tiny tots and big kids alike!
Everyone in my family loves this walk along, waggy-tailed pull puppy! I bought Hape Walk- a- long Puppy for my then 1 year old son's birthday thinking his 2 older sisters wouldn't want to play with this "baby toy". I usually like to buy versitile toys that will grow up well and have play appeal with all 3 kiddos. I also TRY and stay away from battery powered toys because..just so many reasons - endless $$$, the inevitable drama that ensues when batteries die, annoying glitches, battery acid corosion, can't leave them outside if it rains, no bathtime play usually, etc.Nonetheless, thinking that my babe might not get a ton of mileage out of this one, it looked so darn cute, my husband approved (he's extremely anti-bleeping/noisy toys) and my kids are always trying to drag something long behind them - rolling baggage, long ribbons, each other. Should have known. I was so wrong! My now 23 month, 3 and 5 year olds have all been *ahem* 'taking turns' almost every day for the past year, walking this cute-n-happy lil' guy around the house and outside. (Pup is made out of wood and is probably not designed to be an outdoor toy, just a heads up.)It's a simple, cute, well designed, classic wooden toy that apparently doesn't ever get old. My grandma probably had one of these kinds of toys back in the horse-n-buggy days. Of course, her father probably whittled her pulltoy himself from some leftover scrap wood and haybail twine laying around the farm, maybe taking weeks to finish. Kinda sounds like a lot of work..the olden days must have been like, so hard without Amazon Prime.Anyway, this is a Hape wooden toy so it's crafted quite well, anything but scrappy and it took just 2 days to get to our home with Amazon Prime..which is freaking awesome! It arrived packaged nicely, tucked away in an openface cardboard box that wasn't too difficult to unwrap. So, when gifting this to your child, they will be able to touch it immediately after unwrapping, though may need a little help removing their new pup completely. Parents will have to help those with tinier, less dexterious hands, so be prepared with your Swiss Army knife, Kraftsman, machete or whatever. There's a bit of a glossy finish to the wooden parts which are painted quite nicely with orange spots and orange ears. Light-colored, natural wood shows through beautifully where it's not orange, so it's anything but an eyesore. The red pull string is thin, ropey, not too long, not too short in my opinion. My 5 year old is super tall for her age and manages to take Hape Pup for walks easily, without crouching down to keep it rolling flat on the ground. Just as much fun and possibly played with more often than my kids' various robotic pets. Go figure.Best part - no batteries required, yet it still moves all around, kind of like a puppet on a string only the entire house is the stage. You can sit him up so he 'begs for treats', lay him down on his back to 'play dead', make his head nod up and down while he 'drinks from his doggie bowl'. Plus, his tail wags as he gets pulled along, which is my favorite feature. I will definitely be purchasing more Hape pull along toys this Christmas and/or for my January beebee's 2nd bday. Thinking the crocodile and duck with floppy feet next.

Best Toy I’ve Ever Bought For My Daughter
I bought this pull-along dog for my daughter when she was about 18 months old. She has lovingly named it Fio and continues to play with it now at age 5. Fio has been featured in our family photos because she won’t part with him and he still goes on walks with us. He’s incredibly durable, has lasted longer than any other toy, and still holds the same allure as on day one. I highly recommend!

Worth the buy!
Cute little puppy. I find the string length appropriate for my 3 year olds. It’s easy to pull and there is no noise when you pull it, but it does bob along which makes him wag his tail. Safely made, durable, and so cute!

Sweet toy
It is a cute toy and looks well made. The little tail wags. I gave it four stars only because it isn't brightly painted which is a very little fault. It's not faded, but it wood tone with ears and tail and nose that are red. It will be a fun toy, a bit different than the stack toys that make music that are popular now.

quality toy
Just got this last night and I had to open the box! I had seen this on our trip to France but due to luggage issues (the lack thereof) sadly did not purchase this item so happy to have found it on Amazon (of course). This toy is so well made!!! Every part is moveable. The tail wags when you 'walk' the dog (the back wheels are angled in a way that it oscillates the rear which shakes the tail in a wagging motion -tail is made of a rubber material attached to it's rear and the wooden red part of the tail) My LO (11 months) has already started 'walking' her dog after I showed her this morning. (she started walking at 10 mths) She likes to grab it by the tail (smallest part of the puppy and fits nicely in the palm of her hand) and carries it this way but it seems very sturdy. We will see how it holds up over time. The wheels have a rubber edge that keep it on the floor. A gentle pull and the head moves up and down with the ears swinging along. Positioning the puppy by pulling and maneuvering the string takes coordination but easily doable, something that should hopefully keep her occupied for a while. :) I was able to show my LO how to do the different positions using the string and she was attempting to pull and push the puppy as such in no time at all. It is a solid piece but light enough that she has no problems walking and carrying it in one hand (again holding the tail). such a wonderful and QUIET toy (except for it being dropped on occasion onto my wooden floor...) maybe now she would leave our actual dogs alone...

So cute, worth every penny
Adorable. Bought this for my daughter when she started walking. She's almost 4 and still drags it around everywhere. Would but again for others as a gift.

No just for Tiny Babies, Great Toy, Well Built, fun to Watch
So I told my wife I got an old school wooden dog on a string, as I was laughing thinking what was I doing our son is 18 months old but big and smart like a 3 year old, I was thinking he will never walk around with this thing! I Was wrong and it was the cutest thing ever to see my beast of a baby walk his wooden puppy, we have to large Pitbulls who he loves and rough houses with but this puppy made him happy and he walked it for most of Christmas Morning he even had me get a dog treat to give to his new puppy, the puppy has great movement, strings longer than I thought I would be so that's good, it's sturdy it does fall on sharp turns but balanced well for how skinny it is. To see him Christmas day with that dog was worth it to me if he never touched it again and great toy to hand down to other kids because it's built very well and will last like the old ones did.
