Perfect package if you mix your colors
This is an excellent test for discovering if you like Daniel Smith paints. The tubes are small, but they are enough to paint for a long time and if you mix all your colors like I do, they are really all you need.

Best quality watercolor
I don't know any artist that doesn't like Daniel Smith watercolor. The price might seem high if you are new to watercolor, but it is well worth the price and because of the high pigmentation it lasts a long time. It only takes a small amount. I use the tube paints after I squeeze them into a palette. I let them dry a couple of days before use. These paints do not require you to spray with water. As soon as you touch the paint pan with the wet brush you are ready to go. I paint a lot. The 15 ml tubes will last a long time. The 5 ml tubes last a long time and perfect for trying out a color. If you are using any of the phthalo colors, you will use less since these are very pigmented and you just need a touch when mixing with another color. Something like an Ultramarine blue and burnt sienna, these colors you would get a lot of use from and a 15 ml tube would be good. If you are just starting to use water color this set is so good because you won't get overwhelmed and you will learn color mixing skills. I would add to this set 2 Earth colors like burnt sienna and raw umber.
