Good book but a little elementary if you are already a biker
Please don’t get me wrong. I think most of the stuff this book contains is very useful and very good. However, I’ve been riding for just five months, and I dare to say that probably for 80% of the stuff that it’s in this book, I’ve been able to discover it by myself, either by rolling outdoors or on my smart trainer. However, it is very good if you wanna have a base and a methodic approach to climbing.

Some good ideas, not a lot new.
Some rough sentences and ambiguous techniques descriptions too. Still, it's a quick read with enough detail to get you started experimenting with what will work for you on the mountains.

Simple yet objective
Used to weight 152 kg now with 108 kg I am really like cycling and want to be a better cyclist. I suffer with climbs and I am far from being a pro or racer yet I want to be a "pro amateur". This is a very short book but a treasure chest of information. The 5th star would be there if there was more tips for the average cyclist. Worth read!

Obviously self published and not edited
Reading this makes me believe that the author's native language is not English it is so bad. With a name like Brett Scott I would guess he is a native English speaker, but I may be wrong. I read this whole thing and got maybe 2 good ideas from it (about all I could figure out what the hell he was saying). It is very short and more like a short notebook of notes on hill climbing. And the way it is written it seems like it was "personal" notes that only the person who wrote them would understand. The sentences aren't put together anywhere near properly and I spent more time trying to figure out what the hell this guy is actually trying to say instead of what he said than I did getting anything out of the book.Example:"It's far better to start the climbing in an easy gear and changes off as you establish your rhythm and stand at higher gear, exhaust yourself and have to change down." - Umm, say what? So what technique is better?

2 minutes faster
I am a beginner or maybe it would be more accurate to say that I am a recreational triathlete. I have my 4th triathlon coming up in 2 months and want to improve. I had 2 big take aways from this book: ride more often and divide hills mentally into 3rds. I took 2 minutes off my 14 mile ride today. I am excited about that!

Needs a professional editor
This is a decent book for the price. The author really seems to be quite knowledgeable, and he gets right to the point. I'm looking forward to trying some of his suggestions to improve my own climbing. There is a least on important factual error, considering the latest science on tire pressure and rolling resistance. The whole book could use a once over by an editor, just to improve the readability and clarity.

Good book for beginners. Lots of Typos
This would be a good book for a beginner. If you have any experience, it's way too simple. The number of typos is distracting. The number of times he repeats is a bit distracting as well.

It is working for me
Made sense. My climbing ability has improved, need to forget the old habits, practice..practice...practice

Crap
This was a real waste of money. It has no knowledge or technics different from any site or 10 minute video you find in youtube.

Very useful tips... it's all here
There are lots of very useful tips in the book right from the outset. Brett Lee Scott has a no-nonsense, simple style to his writing and presents the information well. All the different factors behind having difficulty with hills are discussed with some ideas on how to set up your bike and training schedules and then it looks in depth at the features of good hill climbing, some of the science behind it, techniques, positions and tips for approaches, workouts ... it's all here. Recommended.

still knackered
contains some good tips and advice to consider for those, like me, who find hills a test. Recommended for club cyclists and enthusiastic amateurs.

Good content but poor proofing
Very interesting content with lots of good tips and practical advice. However this was somewhat spoiled by what can only be poor proof reading. At times the "typos" made it difficult to work out the meaning of sentences. One had to read and re-read to decide what the author was actually saying. Surely even ebooks go through some sort of quality control before publication?
