Great for relaxation
I recently bought this book for my mother and am now buying another copy for a friend. As the covers states, it is 4 books in one with geometric patterns, more traditional mandalas and nature mandalas. My mother loves to sit and color these pictures. She gets creative with the types of colors she uses and colors the duplicates found in the book with different schemes. It is important to have a large and varied set of markers or colored pencils so you can plan with shading. There are a few pictures in the book that have very, very small spaces that are very difficult to color with traditional markers. My mother loves using RoseArt fine tip markers and keeps a strip of blank paper next to her so she can test the shade of each marker as she works. The pages in this book are thick and perforated with the pictures on just one side. This is great since you really want to work on one picture and be able to turn it to get the right angles. Although the paper is thick, the ink from markers will still bleed through so you will want another page or something underneath. We use old newspapers but anything will do.The bottom line in coloring these is the overall benefit to your health. It is relaxing and helps order your thoughts. We have checked our blood pressure when starting to color and after we have worked on a page for a while check again and it is significantly dropped.

TREMENDOUS VALUE
Another great value 4 books in 1 combination:- Nature Mandalas by Marty Noble: I probably would not have purchased this separately; but I will enjoy doing it. I like the irregular edges on many. There is some small detail just as in other mandalas.- Mesmerizing Mandalas by Randall McVey: Although there are 31 pages in this section, there are quite a few duplicates (and they're not my favourites.) This has now been published again as 3-D Modern Mandalas which includes 3-D glasses. (Since there were no description of either book, I foolishly ordered this separate book also.)- Square Mandalas by Alberta Hutchinson: the usual type of design only square; not much tiny detail.- Mystical Mandala by Alberta Hutchinson: I already had these designs published double-sided from Dover; but am delighted to have them single-sided since they're some of my favourites. Each section has 31 pages -- single-sided and perforated. Even with a few duplicates and the odd drawing one doesn't like, this is a tremendously good buy.

Great buy
This is a big book with a wide variety of artwork to choose from. If you want detailed pages, you’ll find them...if you want large patterns to color, you’ll have them, too! Dover books are the best quality, as well. The paper is thick and printed on one side. Perforations allow for easy removal of pages. All of this makes for a book that can be colored with gel pens, colored pencils and/or crayons. Highly recommend:)

Not to my liking.
I didn't like this book. I gave it to some young friends.Pages do not rip out easily. Yes, they are printed on one side.I already had the "Nature Mandalas," and that book was repeated here. I didn't care for it as a single book because the designs are just too small to work with, The details nearly impossible to color. Then the second "book" included here was a geometric book. Not to my taste. Abstract and kind of boring -- and some were crazy difficult, and I've been doing mandalas for years. Not challenging in a good way, challenging in a "buy a ticket to the farm" way.The last two books were good, but I could have bought these separately, especially as I already had the "Nature Mandalas" which I also gave to the young friends.Cannot recommend, unfortunately.

good variety, but a lot of duplicates and difficult designs
This is the first Creative Haven Mandalas book that I've purchased, and though I like the variety of designs that the 4 books in 1 give you. I am very disappointed in the number of duplicate mandalas in the Geometric section (I've found at least 6 in my book), which makes me wonder if the other sections also have duplicates. Since each section is provided by a separate artist, I don't find any excuse for this acceptable. I also agree with the reviewer that said some of the drawings within the Nature section have such tiny detail as to be very, very difficult to do, and that some of the Geometric ones can drive you mad (or at least dizzy!). If this is your first exposure to Mandala books, you're better off choosing another one.

Count your pages, I didn't get what the product details said. NO 256 pages!!!!!
Some one really needs to learn how to count!!!! In the product details it says that the book has 256 pages, well my book only has 121 pages. So I'm missing half of a book!!!! I have 29 pages in the Nature 25 pages in Mesmerizing with 6 pages that are repeats 31 pages in the Squares and 30 pages in Mystical. I have nothing against the pictures, just the amount that I got in the book. I will never buy another 4 in 1 book!!!!!

I LOVE this book! I give this book to many of my Spiritual Coaching clients as a way to learn to work quietly "inside" themselves. This book and a box of at least 50 colored pencils and you are set for a great personal experience.

Creative Haven wins again
Creative Haven colouring books are always an excellent choice for the same reasons: single side print pages, that are perforated for easy removal, medium weight paper that responds well to a variety of mediums, and priced to be able to usually get two. One to colour in, and one to save to colour in at a later date in time. This book is special containing 4 previously published books related by subject matter together in one book.
