Product shaved ice very well and is good for a couple of small cups at a time. Does take a little elbow grease, would be difficult for a child plus the blades are very sharp. Product is sturdy, looks good and should last a few years at least if not longer. Very easy to use with regular size ice cubes.

The media could not be loaded. I echo what most reviewers have said about this ice shaver. This is one of those cheap and simple things that is just works, effectively and efficiently.I needed a blender to make this simple dessert called scramble. I needed to crush ice. Actually i bought a cheap hamilton blender for about $30. Then after purchasing rather than search for “ice blender” i searched “ice shaver”. Now the hamilton had kixed reviews and i understand that it is for smoothie but it does have a crush ice settings. But i was still doubtful.I ended up purchasing this ice shaver also after reading all the reviews. And the hamilton i didnt even took out the shipping box and it went straight to ups to be returned.This ice shaver efficiently shaves ice in perfect soft fluffy texture. Best of all it’s mechanical, no electricity need (which also means it is quiet).I would wane potential buyers though that if you are thinking of getting extra ice trays, make sure you get smaller ice trays, same size as the ice tray that come with this shaver. The reason is that inside the shaver there is a divider to keep the ice innplace while the bottom bladed floor rotates to shave the ice. I included a pic on this review of what the i side looks like since not a lot of people posted this part and not even the stock photos show this.If you are simply looking to shave ice THIS is the tool for it. If you’re looking to make smoothie, i think it is possible you’ll just need to mix it, pour it in the ice tray then once frozen, drop the cubes in the shaver and shave along!

I like this,it's compact and convenient in my opinion. I was gonna get an electric one but this works just fine, don't take long at all to grind up. I like the extra gift that also came with it.

Has anyone ever been gifted a Snoopy Snow Cone Maker? This is kind of like that, but on steroids, and it WORKS!No need for a plug-in one that costs $60 or more, no need for special attachments, special ice cube, none of that... Just throw regular fridge ice cubes in, square cubes, crescent shaped cubes, doesn't matter... they all work, no need for a special, random sized ice cube mold... JUST THROW ICE IN THERE, and start cranking. Don't get me wrong... I love Snoopy, he's nostalgic... brings back memories of my childhood... BUT I'M HERE FOR HOMEMADE SNOW CONES, NOT A DIXIE CUP OF MELTED ICE CHIPS. This is 11/10 on quality, size, shape, function, value, operation. If you're here to make snow cones for your kids a few times a year... this is it.Want to get crafty AND save time?!?!? Use the ice mold to freeze Koolaid or something similar, throw them sugary ice cubes in the chipper, and you save a few steps on a delayed meltdown!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I LOVE THIS THING! So easy to use and clean. Makes great shaved ice and the ice cube tray is PERFECT and makes it so much easier to make a large amount! It may break in the future as it is only plastic and you are crushing hard ice but that’s unavoidable. I’ll just buy another!

Shaves ice cubes fast and easy. I use the shaved ice to add to my morning smoothies. I love this simple tool but works exactly as it should. I highly recommend this product.

Well I really wanted electric but decide to give this a try. You can’t beat the price and it comes with a free ice tray. I find it easy to turn the handle to grind down the ice but it takes a little more effort to press down the ice and the amount of ice you can put in it is maybe a total of 6 cubes. I don’t find that it makes too much noise. It’s much more functional than other snow cone makers. It’s definitely more stable. It’s not going to want to tip over and there is a silicone ring on the bottom to keep it from sliding. The area below is much bigger to make a lot of shaved ice. The shaving part just easily lifts on and off and you can just eat right out of the bottom part…Just add syrup. The free ice tray was wonderful to use. It’s a soft silicone tray. The cubes came out pretty easy. However, after using it for three months, the ice cube tray developed a bad smell. I have no idea why. The smell leeched into the ice cubes, that’s how I found out. Yuck!Overall it’s a pretty good deal if you have no other way to shave ice and I’d pick this over any other manual shaver.

Used it a couple times. Easy to set up and use. Kids love it. The silicone ice tray isn't too bad either. A bit of a hassle to take the ice out but its not too bothersome.
