Ohio Stoneware 1 Gallon Crock Weights

They are currently being used to make sauerkraut in my previously purchased crock. Much better than a bag of water.

This is the right product! Perfect fit and hefty weight to it made in Ohio!

These weights don't fit in a 1 gallon jar. The description is misleading and confusing. These weights are meant for the 2 gallon jar even though that is not the way it seems from the description. Check the size before you buy. I bought the crock at the same time as the weights and wasn't able to measure to see what the correct size would be. I don't know if they have weights for the 1 gallon crock or not? The weights themselves seemed very sturdy and well made. Love that they are made in the USA.

These weights were the perfect size to fit in the crock. They worked well to keep the food below the liquid. They are machine washable and sturdy. Doubtless there are other ways to do the same thing that one could concoct, but why go through the trouble. Use these ready made weights and start your own ferments.

It does its job by keeping everything submerged in brine. I do seal them in a vacuum sealer bag for easy cleaning.

I ordered this and the 1G Crock from Ohio Stoneware for my son's birthday as he is wanting to make saurkraut. The next time I was at his house he had the saurkraut working in the crock with these grea weights! Delivery was very fast, here before I expected, and packaged carefully, arriving in perfect condition!

Too large to fit in a large 5 gallon jar and too small for my small crock.
