Worked out of the box with my Ryzen 3400G
I installed my AMD Ryzen 3400G and upon bootup, the motherboard recognized the CPU and was working flawlessly! It also recognized the Two 8GB sticks of G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200MHz DDR4 Ram. After installing my operating systems (Windows 10 Pro and Pop_OS!) I went to the website for this motherboard and downloaded the bios update and all drivers for it. I went into the Bios and updated it which I made sure to do when I knew the power was less likely to go out! I highly recommend being plugged into a UPS while updating the Bios. Once it was complete, it rebooted which the total time took less than ten min or so. I went back into the Bios and adjusted my profiles so that the Ram would run at 3200MHz which it did after adjusting the profile. I also made sure the motherboard saw everything that was plugged in. I did this by using the motherboard overview where you can hover your mouse over the different ports on your motherboard to see if it detects what is plugged in. Every port I check was working and all four dim slots for the ram were working. I moved the two sticks of ram I had, around to check the other two dim slots. Also, make sure all USB ports work! And the Ethernet port! Made sure to check all display outputs you plan to use even the ones you know you won’t use. Both CPU and system fan headers work. There are two system fan headers, both of mine work. Every port I was able to check is working audio and all! Please make sure to check your ports it would absolutely suck if you got everything up and running to realize you have a dead USB port, ethernet port, etc. Find dead ports while you are still within your return window. The only ports I didn't test were the Nvme slot and the slot for a graphics card and some ports I would never use. So far this motherboard is absolutely fantastic! Everything is working! And the packaging was really good to keep everything protected! Highly Recommend this motherboard but make sure to compare other motherboards to this one to make sure it will do everything you want! The only con to me is the color I wish it was black but reluctantly I don't notice the motherboard color even though the tempered glass case unless I shine a light directly onto it. And yeah I'm definitely gonna do something about those Ketchup and mustard cables!

Reliable Performance and Great Value
I recently upgraded my PC with the MSI B450M PRO, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This motherboard offers a great combination of features, performance, and value for AMD, making it an excellent choice for both casual users and gamers. Compatibility and Performance: The B450M PRO-VDH Max even though was specifically designed for AMD Ryzen 2nd and 3rd Gen processors can be used with 4th and 5th gen after a Bios update, and it offers excellent compatibility. I paired it with a Ryzen 3 3200g CPU while I am able to get a graphics card, and it has consistently delivered exceptional performance. Whether I'm working on graphic-intensive tasks or (for now) light gaming, this motherboard handles it all with ease. Remember to use fast DDR4 ram since Ryzen CPUs really make good use of it. Micro-ATX Form Factor: The Micro-ATX form factor of this motherboard is perfect for those looking to build a compact PC without sacrificing performance. It fits into smaller cases, making it a great choice for compact and portable builds. M.2 Slot and USB 3: The M.2 slot for SSDs ensures speedy data transfers and quick system boot times. Additionally, the USB 3 ports offer fast data transfer speeds and are handy for connecting external storage devices or peripherals. This motherboard truly delivers when it comes to connectivity and speed. D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI Ports: The inclusion of D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI ports means you have multiple options for connecting displays if you use a "G" Ryzen CPU. Whether you're using a traditional monitor or a high-definition display, this motherboard has you covered. The graphics options are versatile and offer great flexibility. Reliability and Build Quality: MSI is known for its reliability and build quality, and the B450M PRO-VDH Max lives up to that reputation. It features solid construction and high-quality components, ensuring the longevity and stability of your system. Price and Value: One of the standout features of this motherboard is its affordability. It provides impressive performance and features for its price point, making it an exceptional value for budget-conscious builders. In conclusion, the MSI B450M PRO-VDH Max Micro-ATX Motherboard is a top-notch choice for anyone seeking a reliable, budget-friendly motherboard for AMD Ryzen processors. It delivers impressive performance, boasts a range of connectivity options, and its Micro-ATX form factor makes it suitable for compact builds. Whether you're a casual user or a gamer, this motherboard has you covered without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade or build a new AMD-based system. It's a five-star performer in terms of value and functionality.

Great Board for medium-medium/high builds
I decided to build a new tower as my daily 8750h 1060 laptop couldnt hang with some new titles. I am running this board with fractal mini g case 32gb 3200 Ballistix, ryzen5 3600, wd black 500gb 3x4 m.2, wifi 6 card, evgs gtx 1660ti sc, corsair water cooler, and 3 noctua fans. Computer is SOLID. Will run most games i throw at it on high settings at 1080p. Motherboard setup was easy with no bios reflash for ryzen 3000. Pros: solid performance, no reflash for ryzen 3000 series, turbo m.2, lots of usb 3.2 gen1 ports. 4 ram slots. Early OC (ram and cpu) capable board. Cons: only one m.2 slot. If you have a large gpu one pci slot will be unuasable as matx boards are a tighter fit. All around great board with no issues(so far). I have been running the system for a few days and will update if any issues occur.

Semi good value and works great with Linux
I finally decided enough was enough with overpriced Macs. I got this as it was compatible with the third gen AMD processors that are highly rated and cheaper than Intel. It is missing a few things which I wish it had, but it’s not a big deal. Would be nice if it had Bluetooth and WiFi. I got a USB adapter for Bluetooth but only use wired as it’s faster and more reliable for internet anyway. I’m using this with Linux, more specifically Pop Os. Didn’t want to pay a bunch of money for Windows and deal with the constant updates, security issues, privacy issues, etc. It all works well, I tinkered a bit with the BIOS settings and just make sure you update it to the latest version. Just wish it booted straight into the OS instead of showing the motherboard icon/settings for a couple seconds then going into the OS but it’s still fast with my nvme. My build: This motherboard AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core 16gb ram Amd rx 560 graphics 1tb nvme Noctua fan EVGA Modular 650 watt psu Antec p6 case

No BS Board with Ryzen 3rd Gen Support Out of the Box!
I originally had an ASUS B350 board before this, but I had to return it since it wouldn't POST with my Ryzen 7 3700X without a BIOS update. Since the ASUS customer support was a joke, and AMD's RMA form was down, I got this MSI board for the replacement. While it doesn't have as much features as the ASUS board for the same money, it was compatible with my CPU right out of the box. (Make sure you get the MSI boards with "MAX" in the title, as those come pre-installed with the BIOS update for 3rd gen Ryzen.) As for features, it's pretty basic. However for someone like me, who is coming from a used Dell business machine with a Core i5 2500 and no USB 3, it's still a substantial upgrade. The board has an aesthetic that will put you to sleep, though it's not like I'm going to stare at the damn thing while I work. It does have a 12V RGBW, so if you're into that sort of thing, at least you're covered. One thing that I actually liked about the board was the ability to adjust the fan curve in the UEFI. At first, when I installed my CPU, the fan would ramp up and down jarringly at idle, and it was pretty annoying. Thankfully, I was able to adjust the fan curve pretty easily in the motherboard UEFI. For the most part, the problem went away. Overall, this is a solid board so far. If you're in my camp, and you just want a cheap motherboard that works with 3rd Gen Ryzen out of the box, then you should consider this board.

Works well with an AMD Rezon 3 3002g processor
This is a solid motherboard for everything but gaming. With more and more persons using 4K monitors for gaming these days, it is limited in the quality of its graphex rendering. While using an AMD Ryzen 5 5600g would produce better graphics, a board with a B550 chipset and a quality video card would give one more flexibility in the quality of the viewable video produced by the computer. Again, the motherboard is a great choice for every everything but serious gaming.

Great budget board!
For a budget friendly board, this thing has a few upper-end bells and whistles (such as an M.2 slot and RGB headers) while remaining one of the more stable motherboards I've come across. Don't expect the massive capability of a gaming board, but this will do the trick for the average user and probably light-medium gamers. I build and deploy custom workstations for small-and-medium businesses, as I'm a Managed Services Provider (contracted IT Manager). I've saved this board as part of my low-medium workstation build, and have already deployed it in over 100 machines... I have yet to encounter a hardware issue or out-of-the-box RMA. The major annoyance associated to the board is the MSI Live Update tool, which automatically grabs and installs drivers / software from the MSI repository. If you're not careful, it'll install a bunch of MSI bloatware which the average user has absolutely no use for. Apart from that, I've had a great experience with the hardware (and as this is a rating of the motherboard itself, I won't detract a star for the company's update tool). If you get this board, don't have super high expectations capability wise, but know you're getting a solid and reliable board.

Do Not Buy This Piece of...This is The Barest b550M I've Ever Seen.
Worst B450 I've ever seen. 2 SATA ports, stripped IO &1 M.2 without a heatsink? This is literally a $45 A320 with 4 DIMM slots & a BIOS flash. Please save your money. Go w/ a Gigabyte B450 Aorus M or something similar (I bought one in 2019 for $63.99 new) as $90 is at LEAST 50% too much. They don't even label the Power LED, Reset, Power etc etc pins on the board. I wish I had 500 characters to explain how bad it really is. I've never seen a B450 this stripped down, and it's $35 more expensive than it should be to boot? MSI should be embarrassed. I feel awful for anyone that buys this for their first build and gets stuck with what is, as I said, an A320 with 4 RAM slots. Utter trash for what you are paying for it. I'd expect to find this inside a budget HP or Dell, not on a $90 USD B450 in 2022. I'm so tempted to send this back as it looks like it was already returned with fingerprint smudges on the CPU slot. Any issues and it's back in the box and to Amazon as it just isn't worth the money, never mind a headache as well. Shame on you MSI. 1 M.2 and 2 SATA ports...good grief MSI, do better. I get inflation but this 5 layer PCB ultra budget board at a midrange Aorus or Tomahawk B450 price doesn't have the hardware on it for the price to balloon. I've seen budget mini ITX boards with better/more io. Lol, and they skimped on stamping the darn pins on the board...talk about saving every darn penny. Hopefully I've convinced you to save your own and wait for something better to come in stock at this price range because this just is not worth the money. A disappointment at $60, but at $90 it is disgusting levels of price gouging.
