Decent set of speaker but too expensive
OK first of all I didn't buy my set from Amazon but picked them up when Creative were running a sale. I wouldn't pay the RRP for them they're good but not £130+ good. What you get is 2 speakers (left speaker is hardwired to connect to right speaker), a power supply plug/cable, an audio cable and an audio adapter (for use with DVD, TV, consoles). The only assembly required is screwing the baseplate onto each speaker (one screw each)....then you just plug stuff in.The right speaker has controls for bass, treble and volume as well as a headphone socket and an aux in socket. The volume these speakers put out is good, bass is ok and desktop footprint is quite small. This makes these a really good set of desktop speakers...if you want more then you need to start looking at 2.1 setups and upwards. There is one massive downside to these speakers. The sleep mode. After 10 minutes of no audio input the speaker will power down (it's a power saving "feature" to meet EU and EPA regulations). It's annoying to say the least. It takes a good 4 to 5 seconds for the speakers to power up and whatever audio that's playing to be audible. However this can be circumvented on PC (kind of), google "soundkeeper". It's a free program that can be set to play an inaudible sound constantly. Set it to run when the PC starts up and you never need to worry about the speakers shutting down again. As with all programs you download do your due diligence...virus check it, research it....don't take my word for it.So here's the bottom line, if you can pick these up on sale at around £80 then they're a good buy, at £130+ a big nope.

Good quality all rounder.
This set of desktop speakers do the job. Good clear presentation, and with the added mini headphone jack for late hours headphone use.A good reasonable solution.

still going strong
ive had these for maybe 7 or 8 years and they are still going strong, sound at full volume with no distortion, crazy how the price keeps going up and down.

decent but not brill
1st connected it to my onboard sounds via motherboard, was not good, got a creative sound card z se, this improved the sound quality a lot, but still too much bass for my liking, set the equalizer from the soundcard to cinema setting helped lower the bass, other than that a decent set of speakers, but you definitely need a sound card.
