Best we've found for lefty kindergartener
I have a five-year-old lefty who is getting ready for kindergarten next month. We had lots of kids' scissors at home, and all claimed to be good for either right or left hand.Unfortunately, during her kindergarten screening, it became obvious that her cutting skills weren't up to par. (She loves to craft and cut, and has done the Kumon Let's Cut workbooks.) The any-hand scissors have the blades like righty scissors, so she couldn't see what she was cutting and the cutting action wasn't right. It was suggested that we buy some true left-handed scissors for her. After realizing that you can't actually buy them in a brick-and-mortar store, I picked a pair of Fiskars off Amazon. They were hard to use, and my daughter kept asking to switch back.In a bit of desperation, I bought another pair of a different brand -- same problem. So I bought these (at twice the price of the others). It became pretty clear that I should have just started with these. They have a larger thumb hole and smaller hole for the other fingers. The blade is a tiny bit longer. But the cutting action...they open smoothly and cut with that satisfying scissor sound. They are not awkward for her to use, and she's getting so much better at her cutting.I've now bought two pairs of these (and put the others into the "extra supplies" bag that we will bring for the teacher to have in her classroom). I came back tonight to buy a 3rd pair. I wish they came in other colors, but I'm guessing there's not huge demand for true left-handed scissors for kids, so I understand.

Comfortable and great size for kids
My son loves these! I know some people say you can use any kind of scissors even if you’re left-handed but I would recommend these. His teacher got him a pair last year in kindergarten and when we saw them, we grabbed a pair for at home. Perfect size for kiddos!

This pair does not cut as well as the last pair purchased

Terrible quality
These were awful, the gap between the blades was large (bowed) so paper slides sideways between the blades. Absolutely useless and very frustrating for children learning to cut.
